There are some parts of manifestation that are easy and there are some that are HARD! However, the good news is that it’s all workable…you just have to WANT it! My dear friend, Pierre Bensusan, has permitted me to use his track called ‘Sentimentales Pyromaniaques’ from the album 'Altiplanos'. “I Am With You” composed by Music Of Wisdom - Licensed from Meditation Music Library

Hello and welcome to the Spirit Rooms Podcast,

In the Flow with Lori Albert,

Where we talk about spirituality,

Manifestation,

And how to create and live our best lives.

Welcome in.

And hello there.

Let's talk manifestation.

You guys know how much I really love talking about this.

I love helping other people learn how to become more successful.

I mean manifestation takes work,

You know,

And I love helping people become more successful at it.

So let's get in.

All right.

One of the biggest stumbling blocks to manifestation that I seem to hear about a lot is that people start out like gangbusters,

Right?

And they're all gung ho and in a great place.

But then as a few days pass,

All of a sudden they start having doubts.

No.

Have you been there?

I have been there.

That's why I can talk about this,

Right?

In a sense,

It's like anything else we start,

If you think about it.

We start off all excited,

Thinking about all the cool things that we're going to get and how our lives are going to change.

And then a day goes by and nothing.

The million dollars did not drop in her lap.

And then time goes by and it's really seems like nothing is happening.

Several days go by.

The doubtful thoughts start coming in.

Like,

Why am I not noticing anything yet?

Where is my stuff?

I want my stuff.

Yeah,

Seriously.

This in my opinion is one of the biggest,

Yeah,

I don't really want to use the word mistake.

So I'm going to call it a trap.

It's a trap that we kind of fall into very easily,

Don't you think?

Okay,

So here's the thing.

When you decide that you want to manifest stuff,

You start to think my life is not what I want it to be.

So I'm going to learn to manifest and I'm going to change it.

Now that statement is actually really good because you're making a decision.

You're making a plan to change it.

But it's also not good because you have to consider Rome was not built in a day.

This is like going to the gym.

The muscle will only grow as much as you work it.

You can't think that everything in your life is really going to change that that fast.

Okay,

Now here's a great point.

In my book,

I talk a lot about meeting yourself where you are and going from there.

What I suggest in doing all this,

I suggest that you start to pay attention to your thoughts.

This is the work part and it might be a little hard to do.

But if you can do the best you can for a couple of days,

Just noticing,

Not necessarily changing anything yet,

But notice all the places and the people and the situations in your life that trigger you.

I mean those things that happen that put you in a less than happy place.

Let's face it,

It's not the place where you want to be in your life.

Most people just want to be happy,

Right?

Right.

Perfect example is like when you're driving the car and you're all happy.

You're driving down the road.

You've got your favorite song on and you're singing at the top of your lungs and someone cuts you off into traffic and boom,

You are irritated.

You're mad.

Yeah,

We've all been there.

I don't even know if that's true,

But I know I've been there.

Or let's just say you go out,

You're on a dinner date,

New relationship that you told your significant other,

Oh my gosh,

This restaurant is so amazing and so cool.

And the food comes out and it's cold.

That's enough to make anyone nuts.

I totally get that.

But I want to ask a question.

How do you handle stuff like that?

How is it that you personally,

And it's going to be a different answer for everybody.

What happens to you physically?

What happens to you mentally,

Spiritually,

Emotionally?

You may get that like jolt of adrenaline when you get irritated,

Or maybe you can feel your blood pressure rise.

Now,

I'm not saying that you can't react to things that happen in your life.

I'm not saying that because we all do.

But right now,

In those first couple of days,

You want to notice and monitor those feelings,

Monitor those things.

Right?

Okay.

And then what do you do with yourself when you start really noticing how you get triggered?

This is like the next sort of step,

Right?

You get really good and you start monitoring your thoughts and you start to recognize those triggers that kind of happen,

Right?

So what do you do next?

Okay.

This is where the work actually starts.

Okay.

When you are on that date,

And after raving about the restaurant and how great it is,

You get your food and it's cold and it's tasteless and you find yourself getting embarrassed,

Right?

You start out in this great place,

Like you're in this bliss place,

You're in this joyful place because you're on a date,

You know?

And all of a sudden,

Your vibration starts going down,

You're embarrassed,

You're frustrated,

And then you start getting like downright irritated.

This second,

Right there,

Is when you catch yourself and you shift your thoughts.

This is the second,

Right?

You have to admit and notice that those emotions of embarrassment,

Irritation,

Frustration,

They're low vibration.

And so are jealousy,

Lack of confidence,

All of that.

Those are low vibration.

So what we want to do in these situations is to shift.

Shift the frustration to something higher on the scale,

Anything higher.

Okay.

So,

As you feel yourself getting more angry,

Maybe take a few seconds.

You could go to the bathroom and do the fifth,

I'm sorry,

The 16 second meditation,

Right?

That's the meditation where you breathe in for four seconds,

You hold it for four seconds,

You breathe out for four seconds,

And then you hold it again for four seconds.

Right?

Again,

That as David G would say,

Is a pattern interrupt.

Or just walk away for a few seconds,

Take a walk,

Pattern interrupt.

So then,

As you're doing that 16 second meditation or whatever,

You get yourself in the present moment.

You start to recognize where you're standing.

Change the perspective.

Okay.

Then,

Ask yourself,

Right here,

Right now,

Is it really like,

Why am I feeling this way?

Is it really that big of a deal?

That the food is not what I expected?

Yeah,

Right?

This is very thoughtful.

Getting yourself in the present moment,

Utilizing the meditation or the pattern interrupt,

Right?

So getting yourself in that present moment allows you to just kind of be there.

Just be right here,

Right now.

And maybe find a little bit of humor,

Or a little bit of compassion for the situation,

Right?

So your feelings get hurt because maybe the food wasn't you thought.

Okay,

Right?

That's the what it is,

Right?

But maybe,

Maybe the normal chef is out sick because a family member is dying.

You know?

I mean,

Or maybe this or maybe that or whatever.

There could be a thousand things that could help you recognize in your own mind,

This doesn't have to be reality,

You know?

But in your own mind,

You could start to shift your thoughts to ones of compassion,

Considering compassion for the unknown.

This can be a huge way to shift your thoughts.

The bottom line is that whatever the issue was with the food,

Consider that you know that later on,

It might be a funny story to tell somebody later.

I got myself so mad because the food was cold.

I was so embarrassed.

You know,

It could be a funny story later.

You could tell your grandkids,

You know what I mean?

Now,

All of that said,

It's well and good.

We put it into practice.

That's the other story,

Right?

We now need to put it into practice.

And it can be super hard for some people to get themselves to a place of humor or compassion.

Okay?

But we're taking this food situation and taking it slow,

One step at a time,

Right?

It's about shifting your thoughts,

Catching them first,

And then shifting them,

Right?

Now,

If you find that it's difficult to do,

This is where some of the tools can come into play,

Okay?

In terms of our restaurant situation,

You could find a good affirmation for yourself.

You could do the 16 second meditation,

Right?

This is where all the tools come into play.

If you have more time,

You find yourself getting mad about something and you have your home or whatever,

You can journal,

Create a vision board,

You know?

Or scripting,

Script out a whole new circumstance.

These are the tools that help you get to the place of humor or compassion or maybe love for these people that seem to be irritating you,

Right?

Now,

All right,

So what we're going to do today,

What we're going to do right now is we're going to meditate on this,

Okay?

So I want you to relax and allow yourself to sit in the present moment.

Right here,

Right now,

All is well.

Right here,

Right now,

We are in the present moment.

Nothing is right,

Nothing is wrong,

It just is.

So our mantra for today,

It's a Sanskrit mantra and it means the present moment is my true self.

Think about that.

When you sit and you recognize that you are in the present moment,

That is your true self.

That is the present moment.

And what that,

Our Sanskrit mantra is,

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

The present moment is my true self.

So we're going to repeat this mantra over and over to ourselves.

The present moment is my true self.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

Samprati hum.

We can start to bring our awareness back to our bodies,

Back to the present moment.

We thank you spirit for teaching us that right here,

Right now,

All is well.

Namaste.
