When we take slow, conscious, deep breaths - something shifts (and it's usually a positive shift). Take 5-minutes to breathe five nourishing breaths to refresh, soothe, and revitalize you. Put the most effort on your exhalations in this exercise, let them be slow and long. Inhale, accept. Exhale, release.

Allow yourself to find a comfortable seat,

Or if you prefer to lie down,

You certainly can.

So we often think that in order for us to relax and calm down,

We need to do something special and devote a lot of time to it.

But the simple act of taking slow,

Conscious breaths can sometimes be all we need for that rest and relaxation.

We are simply going to take 5 slow and conscious breaths together here.

Allow your eyes to soften,

Relax your shoulders,

And broaden your chest.

If you are in a seated position,

Sit up tall so that the breath can flow freely.

I encourage you with these breaths to breathe in through your nose and breathe out through the mouth if that feels right for you.

We'll count down from 5.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and a long breath out through the mouth.

That was 5.

Inhale deeply through the nose and a long breath out through the mouth.

That was 4.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and a long breath out through the mouth.

That was 3.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and a long breath out through the mouth.

That was 2.

Take a deep breath in through the nose and a long breath out through the mouth.

Allow the breath to happen on its own.

Just take a moment to notice if you feel a shift.

It may be a big shift,

It may be a very subtle shift.

But remembering that any time that we deepen our breath,

Something changes.

Whenever you're ready,

You can let your eyes flutter open and go about the rest of your day.

Namaste.

I loved how deep and slow your breaths are. They really allowed me to fully relax!
