Welcome to this meditation for headaches or migraines.
To start,
Choose any comfortable position for you right now.
Letting your body rest.
This practice is counterintuitive but it is so helpful when it comes to relieving pain.
Take this moment to deepen your breath just a little bit.
Don't overdo it.
To steepen your breaths a little bit.
Now.
Focus your attention on finding the source of the pain.
Where is the pain on your head starting from,
Coming from?
Find that source,
That place where the pain originates from.
Sometimes this pain point moves or disappears and that's fine.
Keep finding it and following it.
Accepting the pain instead of fighting it.
Allowing the body to relax with this pain point.
If you can't find the specific point,
Let's scan the head for any tension.
We're going to scan the head,
The jaw,
Neck and shoulders.
So let's start by going into the temples.
Feel into the right temple.
And feel into the left temple.
Feeling into the forehead and the space behind the forehead.
Thank you very much.
Thank you.
Filling in to the right eyebrow.
Behind the right eyeball.
Filling into the left eyebrow.
The left eyeball.
And the space behind your left eyeball.
Feel into the right ear.
And the space behind the right ear.
Feel into the left ear.
And the space behind your left ear.
Feeling from the left ear down to the left side of your jaw.
From the left side of your jaw.
Feel into the left side of your neck.
Scanning for any pain,
Any tension.
From the left side of your neck.
Scan down all the way to the left shoulder.
Coming to feel the right ear again.
Scanning from the right ear down to the right side of your jaw.
Just feeling and accepting any sensations that may be there.
From the right side of your jaw,
Scan down to the right side of your neck.
From the right side of the neck all the way down to the right shoulder.
Feeling into the back of your skull.
And allowing the body to accept the pain.
Instead of trying to change it.
Or have it be a different way.
Accepting that right now this is the way it is.
And that the pain will eventually change.
But right now.
This is the way it is.
And fighting it,
Resisting it.
Will only make the pain be more intense.
So letting go of this fight,
This resistance,
Even though it might be uncomfortable.
And if you found the source of pain,
Take your attention there.
Allowing the body to relax without fighting,
Accepting.
Stay here as long as you need.
