Hey Loveland,
I'm LaToya Maria.
Welcome to your guided journaling and loving-kindness meditation curated to support you in bringing love online as you traverse a new day.
While it's intended for the start of your day,
This devotional practice is useful at any time.
Take a moment to grab your journal and something to write with.
You can also grab a mirror for the loving-kindness affirmation,
But it's not required.
Mornings are a sacred time.
How you begin your day impacts how and where your energy flows.
I'm not here to list out what you should or shouldn't do.
I want to open you to the possibilities of transformation that awaits when you are intentional and devotional about the quality of how your day begins.
Let's begin with loving awareness.
Soften your gaze or close your eyes.
As you breathe in and out slowly and evenly,
Bring your attention to your inner eye,
The space between your brows.
How are you feeling this rising?
How's your heart?
Your mind?
Your body?
Reflect on the first thoughts that entered into your awareness when your consciousness filtered in.
Was it joy?
Gratitude?
Dread?
Breathe.
It's all good.
Keep your heart open to whatever comes up.
Allow space and grace for the fullness and fluctuations of your emotional state.
Before we begin to journal,
Muse for a moment.
What do you habitually give your energy to when you first wake up?
Is it your partner?
Your little ones?
Your phone?
Is time spent in the morning an external experience?
Are you open to prioritizing time with your internal self first,
So that you have the capacity to face your day with compassion,
Love,
And grace?
Notice your breath as you feel into this.
Take your time as you allow this awareness to come to the fore and settle.
Surrender any resistance.
With lucid awareness and ease,
Bring your breath and energy into the space of your heart.
Long steady inhales and exhales directed right into your heart.
Imagine how you want your day to unfold.
What do you feel?
What do you see in your mind's eye?
Write any words or phrases that come up.
Pause here if you need time to write.
How do you want to honor yourself today?
Begin the statement by writing,
I honor myself today.
Lastly,
Write down three to five things you are grateful for.
As we move into the love and kindness affirmation,
Allow yourself to let go of any residual physical,
Mental,
Or emotional tension.
Feel free to go to the mirror for this part.
Say them as you get ready for your day,
Or simply listen and allow the messaging to integrate into your being.
Gather your awareness behind your breath.
Notice your heart.
Breathe in and out of this space continuously.
Tune into something you love about yourself.
Turn up the volume of receptivity,
Openness,
And acceptance as that love spreads.
Offer love and kindness to yourself by letting these words become yours.
May I be safe.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I live in peace no matter what I am given.
May my heart be filled with love and kindness.
Stay with your breath.
Fill your heart with loving kindness with an inhale.
Send love and kindness to every part of your being on the exhale.
Bring to mind someone you love,
Someone who supports you,
Perhaps a friend or family member.
See if you can feel and hold the love for this being.
Visualize them and say in your mind or aloud,
May you be safe.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you live in peace no matter what you are given.
May your heart be filled with love and kindness.
Fill your heart with loving kindness on an inhale.
Send love and kindness to every part of the person you love's being on the exhale.
Notice the feelings and sensations that arise and let them be.
Once feelings for a loved one flows easily,
Turn your attention to someone with whom you have difficulty.
It's best not to start with the most difficult person,
But someone who brings up feelings of annoyance or irritation.
Feel any feelings that arise.
You're safe.
See if you can let these words become your words as you keep this person in your awareness.
May you be safe.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you live in peace no matter what you are given.
May your heart be filled with love and kindness.
Fill your heart for loving kindness with an inhale.
Send love and kindness to every part of the person who is challenging and expanding you on the exhale.
Notice the feelings and sensations that arise and see if you can allow them to just be.
Bring to mind all beings of the collective.
Imagine your family,
Colleagues,
Your neighbors.
Fan out your attention until you include yourself in this offering of love and kindness as you let these words become yours.
May we be safe.
May we be happy.
May we be healthy.
May we live in peace no matter what we are given.
May our hearts be filled with love and kindness.
Fill your heart with loving kindness as you inhale.
Send love and kindness to every being of the collective including yourself on the exhale.
Notice the sensations and feelings that arise within you.
Rest with these feelings of love and kindness.
Place your hands on your heart.
Smile from the inside out.
Feel a deep sense of wholeness,
Peace,
And power.
I invite you to expand on any of the queries presented throughout this meditation over the next seven days.
Utilize them as prompts to support your journaling practice.
Root yourself in love and be a willing participant in the divine unfolding of your day.
