Relaxing the eyes meditation.
Let's start by rubbing our hands together vigorously.
You can also massage your hands.
Really wake them up.
And then squeeze each hand,
Make little fists,
And then relax.
Make another fist with the hands and then relax.
One more fist and relax.
Then breathe in and simply notice the sensation in the hand.
Breathe out and let go of any tension that you feel in your hands and in your whole body,
Whatever's ready to just fall away at this time.
Let it do so.
Allow the soft spot in your heart to open up.
By recalling a memory or a person that just kind of touches your heart.
Can open like a flower.
And then place your two hands right on top of your heart.
Or the center of your chest.
Making a connection.
Between the heart and the hands.
And allowing for this possibility of loving touch,
Conscious touch.
The flow through your hands.
You may even want to imagine that your gratitude Your love,
Your compassion is flowing straight out of the heart into the hands as you make a little cup with each hand and cover each eye.
And in that dark space,
Allow your eyes to relax.
There's nothing they need to be examining,
Focusing on,
Grabbing,
Judging.
Doing.
Let them just go into a cozy.
Little safe space with your loving hands cupping them.
Keep breathing in and out,
Noticing,
Letting go.
If your hands are tired of cupping your eyes,
You can let them fall down by your sides or place them on your lap.
Allow your awareness or your mind to rest on the eyelids,
Just feeling them.
Just noticing.
And allowing them to be.
Allowing them to let go of their tensions and anxieties.
Have a moment to recalibrate,
Rebalance.
You can bring your awareness to the corners of each eye.
And maybe you can even get a sense of the pupil.
What does the pupil feel like?
You're not visualizing it.
You're just really letting yourself feel your eye.
You may even get a sense of the whole eyeball.
Not just the little slit.
That pops out.
Underneath the eyelids,
But the whole thing.
And when you're ready,
I invite you to slowly open your eyes.
And take a fresh look around the room.
From these soft,
Gentle eyes.
What does it look like?
To see the space in front of you.
Can you see the space in front of you with fresh eyes?
Thank you so much for practicing with me today.
Have a wonderful rest of your day and night.
Take good care.
