So once again making yourself comfortable closing your eyes either fully or partially and taking a few deep breaths and then bringing to mind the situation in your life at the moment that is a bit stressful there's some stress some tension some worry concern pain suffering maybe something in a relationship something in your internal landscape in relationship with yourself a work situation and allowing yourself to feel in your body how it feels when you think about this situation the way tension stress feels in your body around this particular issue we're not going to go into that pain stress in your body we simply want to bring some awareness to it acknowledge that it's there locating in your body where you feel that tension being as specific as you can be there's no need to name it or bring in any intellectual thought around it simply locating where in your body are you feeling tension related to this situation bringing an awareness as if you were a third party so you're still yourself but you're a third party being aware of this pain of this tension you're seeing it you understand how it feels but you're able to view it from a little distance it is not you it is something that you're able to to see if it helps to get a sense of this pain or this tension get a sense of how it actually looks in your body maybe it has a color a shape a texture or maybe this pain or this tension looks like a person or an animal or an entity who's there who is this pain this tension are they a child figure are they an animal figure are they a teenager are they a ball are they light are they a color as much as you can being very open to what you might see here it might feel unusual to think of your tension or your stress as having qualities like these being curious if you're having trouble separating yourself from this stress seeing if you can take a step back so that you can see this from a distance a short distance but there's a little space between you and this stress noticing how you're feeling towards this stress from this vantage point how are you feeling towards this color this ball this child this teenager whoever it is that is this stress how are you feeling towards them if you find you're feeling annoyed or angry or frustrated or impatient towards this stress seeing if you can take another step back get a further away perspective still quite close but just a step back you might even notice that there's something in the way of seeing this stress this tension of seeing it clearly whatever that might be getting in the way maybe it's a personification of another emotion maybe it's a wall maybe it's a mist inviting that that part to maybe step aside see if you can find a vantage point where you can get a clear view of this stress in your body a clear and uncomplicated view you might need to step back again you might need to move you might need to be persistent in inviting this other part that's in the way to step aside you're just wanting to get a perspective even if it's just for a moment just for a moment and if you're finding that you're simply not able to get a clear perspective on this tension in your body it's okay it's okay there's no need to push being with your experience whatever it might be releasing any struggle there's no need to fight to try hard just being here just trying out this meditation tells you that you do care about yourself you do care about this stress in your body and if you are able to get to a place where you can view this stress from a kind compassionate curious place noticing how you're feeling towards this stress is there anything you feel you'd like to communicate with this stress in your body not forcing any words but is there anything that you feel you'd like to say or communicate gesture towards this stress in your body from this uncomplicated space and then noticing does this stress in your body see you from this vantage point do they hear you taking a moment to notice that if they know that you're there and then seeing if there's anything that this stress would like to say to you is there any communication from this tension in your body to yourself in this vantage point place there's no need to do anything there's no action there's no intervention there's simply being with maybe you simply acknowledge that the connection's been made now and that there's the potential for continuation of this connection into the future wise compassionate self connecting with the stress in your body now in whatever way feels okay to you allowing all parts of you to come back together as one your wise compassionate self is always there you're just sometimes a little hidden overshadowed forgotten that they are always there maybe seeing imagery of all of those parts of yourself coming back into this body this complicated paradox of a being that we all are and then bringing your awareness to your breathing noticing a couple of breaths you might like to take some fuller than usual breaths expanding your awareness out to the entirety of your body becoming aware of the whole of your arms and hands the whole of your legs and feet up to the top of your head your front your back starting to move your body a little getting in touch with the physicality of your body when you're ready gently opening your eyes take a moment to gently look at the space that you're in having a stretch the soup of your drink

Wow thank you so much. Such a powerful meditation experience. I had a really clear visualisation of what was bothering me and was able to shift a lot of the tension that I was feeling in my body today.
