You can hold your pain – emotional, physical, psychological. You can breath yourself bigger so that you are a larger vessel for holding pain lovingly, acknowledging that there is nothing wrong with your body even as you are in pain, and that it is always doing the best it can; it is always faultless.

Music So yeah once again making yourself comfortable closing your eyes either fully or partially taking a few deep breaths and I invite you to bring to mind something that you're struggling with right now.

This might be something physical,

It might be pain in your body,

Tension,

Restlessness,

It might be something emotional,

A heartache,

Fear,

Stress whatever is calling to you in this moment,

Whatever pain you're feeling physical,

Emotional,

Psychological pain,

Whatever is really present for you right now and we're doing this not simply to look at pain,

We're doing this as a process for tending to ourselves so if you feel any worry about bringing to mind some pain,

Just let your system know that the aim is to tend to love ourselves,

To take care of our pain something's going to change to happen here,

Just let your system know that make it as safe as possible for your body and your mind to go to this place of pain and also let your system know that if it becomes too difficult to be with this pain that you will pull out of this practice,

You will give yourself what you need you'll bring your awareness just to your breathing or just to the physical sensations in your body let your body know that you are in no way going to push anything you're going to work together,

You and your body,

You're going to work together your body is a wonderful source of information and wisdom let it know that you want to hear from it,

Let it know that you're opening your ears and your heart to whatever your body wants to tell you through this meditation and so bringing your awareness to the site in your body of this pain so if it's a physical pain,

Bringing your awareness gently to that place in your body where you're feeling that physical muscular pain or its tendons or joints or bones whatever it is that's in pain,

Bringing kind awareness to that place in your body if it's emotional pain,

Seeing where this pain resides in your body is it in your hips,

Your back,

Your belly,

Solar plexus,

Your chest,

Your throat your jaw,

Your head when you tune into this emotional pain,

What part of your body feels it bringing your awareness to that part of your body and imagining that you're really focusing in on that part of your body you're getting very intimate with that part of your body even so that you can see inside your body,

Inside your shoulder or inside your heart or inside your belly and allow whatever you're seeing to be whatever naturally comes to you you don't need to imagine how it physically looks maybe just getting a sense what do you see when you look into this site of pain in your body is there any imagery are there any words,

Is there a request,

Is there an offering what is this part of your body saying bringing some courage and curiosity allowing yourself to hold whatever it is that your body is saying there's no need to feel that you need to fix anything as if a dear friend is saying you something,

Saying something to you simply holding this,

Witnessing this,

Holding space for this or is it to hold space for this pain being a dear friend to your body and to this pain if you need to breathe yourself a bit larger,

Summon some strength,

Summon some resiliency make your seat wider,

Expand yourself so that you can hold this pain see yourself growing into this larger,

Stronger resource this larger,

Stronger witness of your pain you can hold it maybe even with each in-breath imagining breathing in,

Breathing yourself larger the larger you are,

The smaller the pain is in comparison the more able you are to hold that pain,

So not losing sight of that pain simply making yourself a larger vehicle for witnessing the pain larger,

Benevolent,

Compassionate,

Wise vehicle Hospital searching Medical And from this perspective as this large wise compassionate vehicle focusing in again on the site of this pain and maybe viewing it from a different perspective.

And checking in with this part of your body and being curious about what this part of your body is doing.

What is it doing that is addressing this pain?

What are the processes that are going on?

Maybe they're causing the pain but in service of healing,

Maybe in service of giving you information.

Is your body in pain to try and tell you something?

Maybe you haven't been willing to listen before?

Is your body in pain because all of those functions that help us to heal are working so hard right now.

This workforce of blood cells and tissue and immune system functioning and vitamins and minerals all of this working in this part of your body causing pain at the same time but in service of healing.

If you're feeling emotional pain and curious about the information that's coming from the site of pain in your body.

Pain doesn't arise for no reason.

There is always a reason.

There's always a process happening.

Starting that process.

There is nothing wrong with your body.

It is following a process of healing,

Of information offering.

It might be storing tension for you.

The body can never be at fault.

It only knows how to be.

It knows how to heal.

It knows how to offer information.

That's all it cares to do.

It's always doing that to the best of its ability.

So as we're starting to move towards the completion of this little practice,

Expanding your awareness again if you've been focusing in on this part of your body,

Expanding it out to your body as a whole even to this larger wise compassionate body.

Moving the awareness out.

It feels right starting to open your eyes,

Moving your awareness out further to your environment.

Across the boundary of your body,

Really taking your time to transition.

Maybe looking around the space that you're in.

Maybe looking at the place on your body where you were tuning in,

Making eye contact with that part of your body.

Seeing that part of your body.

And then having a stretch,

A sip of your drink,

Whatever you need to do to transition out fully from that practice.

I wake with back pain, making mornings miserable. I can do this meditation & put the pain into its own awareness. I can listen, and then get up with a positive start for the day. I am so grateful for this help. I return to this often. Thank you.
