So making yourself comfortable again.
You can close your eyes either fully or partially.
If you want to just cast your gaze downwards that's fine.
Supporting yourself in a way where you minimize distractions.
Closing our eyes is a nice way to minimize distractions.
If that doesn't feel okay you might just cast your gaze at a neutral object.
And I invite you to bring to mind the situation in your life right now where you have a choice and you're not sure which choice to make.
You have two options as far as you can see with a particular situation.
It doesn't need to be a big situation just something where you feel undecided,
Unsure.
You feel like you don't have all the information yet.
I'll give you a moment to audition a few of your current situations that might fall into that category.
Maybe it's do I start that yoga class or not?
Maybe it's do I have that tough conversation or not?
Maybe it's do I choose this trip or that trip?
Something that's unresolved.
And so we're going to call these option one and option two.
I'd like you to turn to option one.
One of the choices that you have in this situation.
And as you are considering this option I invite you to tune into your body.
You might have words or thoughts about this option but I also invite you to move your awareness down.
What's going on in your body as you think about option one?
Noticing any points of tension or tightness?
Noticing any places of joy or warmth or pleasure?
Really noticing how it is to hold option one in your body?
How is it expressing itself?
If you're having trouble getting in touch with that imagine in your mind doing option one.
See yourself doing this thing.
Notice how that feels.
There's nothing to judge here.
The you know critic is coming in.
All the inner perfectionist.
Let them know that you're simply auditioning this option.
You're collecting information.
You still have a choice.
Your choice has not been made.
If you're feeling any difficult emotions as you imagine yourself in option one intending to yourself maybe putting your hand on your heart or somewhere else on your body that feels soothing.
Life has many challenges for us.
Living a rich experience is being able to hold ourselves in the midst of these challenges.
Being our own best friend.
Then releasing any imagery around option one.
Moving your awareness over starting to think about and feel in your body option two.
The other option.
Once again if it helps you might even see yourself in your mind's eye doing this option.
Noticing how it feels in your body.
You're feeling points of constriction,
Knots,
Heaviness.
Or are you feeling a sense of well-being,
A sense of rightness,
A sense of justice,
Courage.
Once again if you have any other parts of you coming in to criticize or judge or blame or anything like that.
Just invite those parts of you to to move aside.
You're collecting valuable information here.
You haven't made this choice.
You're simply investigating it.
Any good researcher,
Detective,
Scientist would look at all of the variables.
You're investigating your inner information,
Your inner wisdom.
You're finding out what your body has to tell you.
Any imagery about option two.
Bringing your awareness into your body again and as if you are holding an option in either hand right in front of you.
With no judgment about either of them you're just seeing them as two little packets of information.
Two little pieces of wisdom and knowing.
It may feel clear to you which option you need to take but there's no rush.
You might just simply hold these two a little bit longer.
Checking in with your body one last time.
Is there any anything else your body needs to tell you right now?
You might even ask your body is there anything else?
Waiting to see if there's any more information your body would like to give you.
And then if it feels okay thanking your body,
This wise counsel thanking your body for sharing its wisdom with you.
If you had trouble getting in touch with your body,
If the wisdom from your body feels as if it was a long way away,
Very distant,
That's okay.
Finding some gratitude even if you did feel a long distance away from that wisdom.
If you didn't hear anything that's okay too.
We're all just practicing.
We're all just experimenting.
We've shown up because we care for ourselves.
That's the practice.
And if your body did not feel like a good place to be,
A safe place to be,
That's okay as well.
We can take our time to develop trust in our body.
There are really good reasons why we don't trust our body.
We needn't expect that to happen overnight.
Bringing some patience to that process because you're worth it.
Your body has been waiting for you.
As we transition out of this meditation,
Bringing your awareness to your breathing for a couple of breaths.
Expanding your awareness out to the lengths of your body,
Your toes,
Your fingers,
The top of your head,
Maybe starting to move your body a little.
You're ready gently opening your eyes,
Maybe having a little stretch,
A sip of your drink,
Taking your time.
