This is Clea and in this recording we are talking about affirmations,
The power of affirmations and how to practice them.
Mirror work or saying affirmations in front of the mirror,
Looking yourself in the eye and talking to yourself positive things,
Talking to yourself in a kind and positive way,
For me has been one of the most transforming works that I've ever done.
The first time I practiced this way,
This work,
Was when I was 18 and during that time my whole life was shifting and the way that I saw myself after some months of doing affirmations and mirror work transformed completely.
Later in time,
I've worked with many clients that while practicing this work,
After a while,
They noticed tremendous change in their perception of themselves and therefore their reality because when you see yourself differently,
You raise your standards,
You know your worth,
You know what kind of behaviors you accept and what behaviors you don't accept so this is very important.
The reason why mirror work works so well is because your inner talk is changing and your subconscious mind is shifting.
When you start to believe positive things about yourself,
You start to love yourself better and from this perspective,
From this point,
What you accept and what you don't accept changes.
What you want to achieve changes so your potential and your faith in yourself changes.
A few things that I want to say about mirror work and affirmations in front of the mirror while looking yourself in the eye.
The first thing is,
At the beginning,
It is very uncomfortable because it is something that you are not used to.
It may feel really weird and really uncommon.
What may help is just finding materials of other people who do the same work and finding testimonials because when you know that there are other people who do the same thing,
Your brain sees it as a more normalized thing.
The second thing is consistency.
Keep showing up because with time,
It gets better.
As you start to talk kindly to yourself,
You are more used with your own kindness.
You accept your own kindness.
You accept your own kindness because during life,
Especially during childhood,
We are like a sponge.
We take a lot of unnecessary information and a lot of unnecessary beliefs.
So the deconditioning of this takes time because it took time for us to receive them.
So it will take a while to decondition to new beliefs.
This is why at the beginning,
It is very uncomfortable.
But it definitely gets better with time.
The next thing is,
It is best to practice them in the morning.
It can be either in the morning or before you sleep.
But for many people,
It is way more uncomfortable to be in front of the mirror and to talk to the mirror at evening.
So I really recommend doing it in the morning.
First thing you wake up,
You go,
You do affirmations.
Because right after you wake up and right before you fall asleep,
The door to the subconscious mind is wide open.
So whatever you want to shift that is connected with deprogramming and reprogramming,
It is very beneficial to work during this time.
So the third thing is that I highly recommend doing them first thing in the morning.
If you skip the morning,
You can do them during the day.
It's fine.
But that is the time it is most beneficial.
The fourth thing that I suggest is before you fall asleep,
Or while you're falling asleep,
Put a track with affirmations.
Because as you keep repeating them in your mind,
They become familiar with you and they become familiar with you right before you sleep.
The time when the door to the subconscious mind is wide open and the reprogramming is easier.
The next thing that I want to say is to pay attention to your body.
You're not just repeating some sentences.
Pay attention to your body and visualize how would you feel if you were in this state of being.
How would you feel if you believed this thing about yourself?
How would you feel if this thing was really true about yourself and your life?
We're not just saying words.
We're saying those words and we are embodying those feelings.
And this is the most powerful thing of working with affirmations.
Because as you put it as a daily practice,
You're consciously and in a continuous way embodying those feelings.
Your body becomes familiar with that reality and you're shifting.
You are upgrading your energy and the energy around you and you are transforming it into a higher state of being.
And it's just a matter of time as you do this work to see those changes,
To see that transformation in your physical reality.
