Find yourself in a comfortable position that could be seated on the floor or seated with a chair.
But feel that you are supported in your seat.
If you're seated in a chair,
Feel the soles of the feet connecting to the floor.
Feel the base of the spine,
The bowl of the pelvis resting upon the surface of the chair.
If you're seated on the floor,
Also feel this bowl of the pelvis,
The legs,
The feet,
The lower body resting upon the surface below.
Use this foundation to feel centered.
Allow the spine to extend,
Lifting up through the crown of the head.
Your shoulders are soft,
Face is relaxed.
If you're comfortable closing the eyes,
That may be an option.
Take a few moments to locate your breath,
To locate the movement of your breath through the body.
Your hands are resting wherever is comfortable.
As you allow the breath to move through you,
Noting the gentle pulse in and out.
Guide your focus to your root chakra,
Muladhara,
At the very base of the spine where you feel that connection to the surface below.
And as you bring your focus here,
Bring to mind a red colour.
Allow that red colour to radiate from this point,
Highlighting the idea of stability,
Safety,
And feeling grounded.
That red colour bringing in safety,
Security,
Stability,
And a feeling of being grounded.
Coming gently up the spine from the base,
Now coming to the point just below the navel for both front and back body.
The second chakra,
Svadisthana,
And bring to mind an orange colour as you focus your energy here.
This is the seat of creativity,
Of adaptability,
Of innovation.
We're reminded of the water element,
Staying flexible,
Yielding as needed.
The orange colour bringing these ideas to the area and to your mind.
Moving along further still to the navel point where the belly button is front and back body.
A golden yellow colour emanating from this point,
The third chakra,
Manipura.
This is your point of inner strength and willpower.
The ability to keep going.
As you sense that golden yellow colour here,
Place one of your hands over the belly,
Over this third chakra point.
A few breaths sensing the movement of your hand here.
And take your other hand to rest at the centre of the chest,
The heart space.
The hand at the heart,
Your focus here,
A green colour.
The compassion and the kindness that resides within you for yourself and others.
Feel into that compassion and kindness and the green colour of the heart chakra.
With the hands resting here,
One at the navel,
One at the heart,
We'll find a humming breath and continue this humming breath.
We'll inhale through the nose and then keep the mouth closed to vibrate the sound.
Keep going,
Continue to shower yourself with that vibration.
Feel that sensation through the belly,
Through the heart and maybe up to the throat centre,
The fifth chakra.
Your point of communication and expression of being yourself.
Keep humming and sensing that vibration.
Take one more round of your humming breath.
Keeping your hands as they are or if you'd like resting them back down.
But drawing your focus now to the point between the eyebrows,
The third eye point.
Having your focus to be drawn here.
Connecting in with your intuition,
That sense of knowing before you know.
That inherent wisdom that you hold within you,
That each of us hold within ourselves.
Connect to that higher self.
Feel the power here.
And as you take your next few breaths,
With the inhale,
Let the energy rise from the base up along the spine to the third eye,
The exhale,
Allowing that energy to flow back down.
Let that focus wash through those chakras,
Those points of safety,
Of creativity and adaptability,
Of strength,
Compassion,
Communication and intuition.
Ending with a deep inhale through both nostrils.
Hold the breath.
Feel yourself with that energy lighting up the spine,
Tongue at the roof of the mouth.
And exhale,
Release.
Once more noting the surface below your seat,
Your pelvis,
Your feet.
When you feel ready,
Gently open the eyes.
