Here's a simple way to practice mindfulness and feel more connected to nature.
Practice noticing and saying hello to all of the natural elements around you.
So that might sound like,
Hello sky.
Hello tree.
Hello,
Plant.
Hello,
Ladybug.
Hello,
Bird.
Hello,
Flower.
And you're just going to practice noticing right with your eyes and then saying hello and naming that natural element.
And you can do this for a specific period of time.
You might just say 30 seconds.
You could do it for a specific number of elements.
You might say,
I want to say hello to five different natural elements.
You could also do it in terms of distance.
On the way to the bus stop today,
I am going to practice noticing and saying hello to all of the nature that I observe.
And yes,
You can say hello to a tree and also a leaf and also a bird in the tree and also like a little spider that you see in the spider web.
That all counts.
So be generous with yourself,
Be playful,
Be curious.
And once your brain has that specific job of looking for natural elements.
And then saying hello and naming it,
It helps bring your attention back into the present moment instead of spinning or running into the future or going back into the past.
It's a way to help bring yourself back into the present moment.
To observing your environment around you.
And it's a way of cultivating a sense of friendliness and welcoming to all of the nature that's around you every single day.
So try that out,
Have fun with it,
And I hope to see you again.
