Is working in a high stress environment making you feel physically sick?

Hi,

I'm Katie and I'm here to share a set of tools to reset your nervous system while you're working.

When you feel day-to-day stress taking over your physical body,

Causing everything from headaches to heartburn,

Body scanning encourages you to drop into the present moment,

Becoming aware of the mind-body connection.

So whether you're lying down or sitting at your desk,

I invite you to close down your eyes or keep a gentle gaze.

Take a couple of deep belly breaths,

Then bring your internal awareness to your feet.

If you notice any pain or discomfort,

Acknowledge it and any emotions or thoughts accompanying the sensation.

Gently breathe through it,

Visualizing the discomfort leaving your body with every exhale.

Slowly work your way up your body until you reach the crown of your head,

Systematically bringing your awareness to each and every part of you.

Noticing where you hold tension and using your breath to allow that sensation to melt away,

Knowing that it's only temporary.

Once you scanned all the way up your body,

Slowly start to scan back down the way you came.

Noticing how this awareness has made both your mind and body feel.
