
Healing Your Younger Selves (Younger Yous)
This meditation will guide you through a process of helping younger versions of yourself release trauma, pain, wounding, regret, anger, hurt and sadness from your past memories and periods of time. Doing this will allow you to have memories of your past without holding hard emotions associated with them.
Transcript
Let's begin by just closing the eyes.
Don't do anything.
Just pay attention to the breath and start to allow the outside world to disappear for a while.
Notice your body.
Feel the hum that goes on inside of the body.
And now place your attention at the base of the abdomen in your lower belly.
Imagine that you can relax every part of the lower abdomen,
Letting the lower abdominals go,
Letting the lower diaphragm relax,
Letting the hips and buttocks relax.
Now in through the nose take a deep breath filling up the base of the belly,
Blowing it up full,
Breathing high into the lungs and releasing the breath slowly through the mouth like you're breathing out a straw slowly.
At the bottom of your breath relax the belly even more and take a deeper breath deep into the base of the belly,
Blowing up the belly again,
Breathing high into the lungs,
Holding slightly and releasing the breath slowly and deliberately through the mouth.
At the bottom of the breath just go to a nice even breathing pattern.
Now imagine that out the base of the torso or out the bottoms of the feet or both you can grow energetic roots made of your energy.
Imagine that you can feel them growing deep into the soil,
Connecting you into the earth,
Stabilizing and grounding your energy.
Connect with Mother Earth.
Feel her loving and supportive and nurturing energy.
And now let's take your conscious thought and let's move it further away from the outside world.
Imagine that you can leave the outside world and leave the forehead area and you can drift your thought or your consciousness back into a room in the center of your head where all is quiet.
Behind the eyes,
In between the temples,
Below where your soft spot was as a baby.
Surrender any control of thought.
And since your eyes are closed,
Bring your sight inside of you as well.
Instead of projecting sight forward,
Just allow your sight to become awareness of nothing but you and your higher self.
Now allow the top of the head to open nice and wide and connect in with Source or your Creator,
Your Higher Self or God.
And as you connect in,
Allow yourself to imagine a beautiful,
Relaxing,
Golden energy there like it's liquid gold and it can flow down in through the crown of the head and it can saturate the brain,
Quieting the thoughts and calming the mind.
Allow this energy now to flow into the forehead and the eyebrows and the eyes and let them soften.
Feel the warm,
Soothing,
Calming energy flow down into the cheeks and the sinuses.
All the facial muscles can now relax.
Let it flow into the back of throat,
Inner ear,
And feel a vast,
Relaxed expansiveness.
Let that warm,
Calming,
Liquid,
Golden energy flow down into the jaw and the tongue and the lips.
Let everything go slack.
Allow this golden energy to flow down the back of the head into the neck and shoulder muscles.
Feel the throat open as the neck and shoulder muscles unravel.
Feel the golden light fill the joints of the shoulders and they unhinge.
As this golden energy flows like rivers of warm gold down the arms,
Filling each and every fingertip.
If your palms are face up,
Imagine that you are holding pools of warm,
Relaxing,
Golden energy in your hands.
Feel the arms get heavier as they relax even further,
Allowing the shoulder muscles to let go even more,
And the shoulder blades can move further apart.
All the muscles of the upper back expanding outward.
Feel this gold enter into the heart and the lungs,
Into the chest and the ribs.
Allow this golden energy to flow down the back,
Down the spine,
Into mid-back,
Mid-spine,
Into the stomach,
Into all the organs,
All the glands,
Feeling warm,
Relaxed,
Soothed.
Let it continue to flow down into low back,
Low spine,
Into intestines large and small.
Let it flow down into the tailbone and buttocks,
Into the reproductive organs and bladder.
Feel everything let go.
Hip joints release,
Pelvic bone moves further apart.
Allow yourself to feel like you are either sitting or laying on a beautiful cloud of softness.
Allow this energy to flow down the legs,
Into the thighs,
Warm,
Liquid gold,
Relaxing.
All the muscles let go.
Let it fill the knees and flow easily and gently into the calves and shins.
Allow this warm golden relaxing energy to flow into the ankles,
Into the feet,
And into each and every toe.
Staying very still in that room in the center of your head where there is no thought,
Only allowing.
Let's allow a memory of you,
An earlier version of you,
Anytime before this moment in time when you may be holding hard emotions,
Hard memories,
Trauma,
Insecurity,
Self-doubt,
Anger.
Allow that you to be seen either in a memory,
A picture of you,
Or maybe just a feeling.
But connect deeply with that you.
Feel what they feel.
Connect fully.
As you feel what they feel,
Imagine that you can go to them and if you are able,
Love them,
Support them,
Hug them,
Hold them.
Let them know that you are here for them.
Let them know nothing out loud but heart-to-heart who you are and that you understand them.
As you feel any hard emotions that they feel or any trauma,
Imagine that like a big black cloud inside of them and you and imagine handing it over to this voice right here.
Imagine that you don't have to hold that and they don't have to hold that.
Continue to send that hard emotion out knowing that you are ready to relinquish and surrender hard feelings and memories.
As you connect deeper with this you or these yous,
See if there's something inside that you need to forgive.
An action,
A choice,
Or maybe just forgive them for being human.
Hand over to this voice any guilt or shame or regret.
And help that you forgive themselves if they need to.
Continue understanding them,
Supporting them,
And loving them like you are their parent.
And ask them what they need most to be most happy and healthy.
And when you feel it,
Give it to them from you.
When you feel ready,
Tell this you heart to heart that you will always be here for them.
They will never be alone.
They are understood and validated by you.
And invite them into your heart as a welcome part of your experience because they are making you stronger no matter what has happened.
Stay in this space with them in your heart as long as you would like and come back whenever you are ready.
