This is a lying down & resting back guided practice to put us into connection with, & give us a sense of gratitude for our body & our own self. We'll begin by resting & settling into the body with some deep breaths. We'll then journey through the body focusing on different parts of the body & offering our gratitude. Then focusing our awareness on our self & own life, we'll offer gratitude to ourselves. Disclaimer - this practice may be triggering for disabled people, my apologies.

Let yourself come to rest.

We'll take a couple of extra deep inhalations and exhalations just to help the body to settle in.

So let's take a deep breath in and then let's exhale out of the mouth and let go.

Take a deep breath in and then exhale out of the mouth,

Let go.

Let's take a deep breath in and then exhale,

Let go.

And we're going to do a lovely body awareness,

Body gratitude practice.

So a nice way to begin this is by bringing the hint of a smile to the corners of the mouth,

Bringing the hint of a smile to the corners of the eyes and feeling inside the body,

Feeling how the body feels in response to this smile at the mouth and the eyes.

Feeling into the texture of sensations inside the body.

How do they feel or brighten up,

Liven up in response to this smile?

And can we bring to mind the image of a smile?

Bringing to mind this image of a smile and feeling how that feels inside the body.

How does the texture of sensation inside the body respond to smiling?

And then we're going to bring our awareness to our feet and then we're going to send this smile energy to our feet,

Smiling at our feet as we say thank you to our feet.

Thank you feet,

Reflecting on all the wonderful places your feet have taken you to.

All the wonderful people your feet have taken you to meet.

Reflecting saying thank you to your feet,

Smiling at your feet.

Thank you feet.

Thank you.

Bringing your awareness into your legs,

Smiling at your legs,

Feeling how the body feels inside as you smile at the legs,

Being aware of how the body responds to this warmth,

Reflecting on all the wonderful things your legs enable you to do.

Thank you legs.

Thank you legs for all the wonderful things you enable me to do.

Bringing your awareness to your belly.

Thank you belly.

Thank you belly.

Reflecting on all the wonderful things your belly allows you to experience.

Maybe breathing,

Maybe eating,

Smiling at the belly,

And at the same time feeling how it feels to give this gratitude to the belly or to the sensations.

How do the sensations respond to this?

Thank you belly.

Bringing your awareness to the chest,

Smiling at the chest,

Smiling at the heart,

Thank you heart,

Reflecting on all the,

Maybe the metaphorical heart,

All the things,

All the creatures,

All the experiences that your heart enables you to love.

Thank you for this experience of love.

And then reflecting on the heart's constant work of pumping the blood around the body,

Keeping us alive,

Thank you heart.

Having that hint of a smile at the corner of the mouth,

Corners of the mouth,

And the hint of a smile at the corners of the eyes,

Smiling at your heart,

Thank you heart.

Feeling into the arms,

Smiling at the arms,

Thank you arms,

Reflecting on all the things your arms allow you to hold,

To hug all the beings that you love in this life or have loved in this life that your arms have enabled you to hold.

Reflecting with gratitude,

Thank you,

Thank you.

Smiling at your arms,

Feeling how the arms feel to have this gratitude directed towards them,

Feeling into the hands and the fingers now,

Smiling at the hands and the fingers,

Feeling how they feel,

Reflecting on all the wonderful things and people and creatures,

Our fingers enable us to feel all the things that we are able to come into contact with through touch because of our fingers.

Thank you fingers,

Bringing to mind instances of really appreciating touch through the fingers,

Thank you,

Smiling at the fingers,

Bringing all your awareness up to the lips,

Smiling at the lips,

The lips smiling back at themselves,

Thank you lips,

How does it feel to smile at the lips,

Thank you for all the beings you enabled me to kiss,

Especially the ones that I really loved,

Thank you for,

Thank you for all the wonderful words I speak for my lips.

Bringing your awareness into the eyes,

Smiling at the corners of the eyes,

Smiling at the eyes and the eyes smiling back at themselves,

Thank you eyes for all the wonderful things that you enabled me to see,

Thank you for this gift of sight,

Reflecting on the wonderful things you've seen in your life,

The wonderful things your eyes have enabled you to see,

Feeling that gratitude in your body,

How did the sensations in the body respond to this,

Feeling your gratitude for the eyes,

Feeling into the ears,

Smiling at the ears,

Thank you ears for your magnificent,

Magnificent design that allow me to hear,

Thank you for this intricate,

Incredible system that allows me to hear the voices of the people that I love,

Music that touches my heart,

Reflecting on all the wonderful things your ears allow you to hear or perhaps reflecting on one particularly significant important thing that your ears allow you to hear,

Thank you ears,

Smiling at the ears,

Bringing your awareness to your brain,

Thank you brain for keeping me alive,

For doing all of these things for me,

Completely unbidden by me,

Completely without any of my intervention,

Thank you,

Thank you,

Reflecting on all the amazing things your brain enables you to do or perhaps choosing one amazing thing that your brain allows you to do,

That you really love,

That your life would not be the same without smiling at the brain,

And then bringing back your awareness to the heart centre,

To the chest,

And then bringing our awareness to ourselves,

This self lying here on the ground,

This being,

Smiling at ourselves,

The corners of the mouth,

The corners of the eyes smiling,

Thank you to me,

Thank you for all the wonderful gifts you've given me in this life,

For all the dreams you've helped me,

You've realised,

For all those amazing things that you've achieved,

And those amazing things that you've gone through,

Those difficult things that you've gone through,

Reflecting on your amazingness,

Your general awesomeness or specific,

Something that you've done that was particularly impressive or difficult,

Gratitude to yourself for the lovely things that you've done in your life that have really nourished you,

That helped you to grow,

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you.

We'll come into the sense of our whole body lying here on the ground,

Breathing in at the belly,

And breathing out of the belly,

Breathing in at the belly,

Breathing out of the belly,

Maybe coming into deeper inhalations,

And exhaling out of the mouth,

Breathing in at the belly,

And breathing out,

Letting go,

Breathing in,

And letting go,

And coming back to movement when you feel ready,

Resting here some more time if you like,

Breathing some more,

Wriggling,

Maybe stretching or massaging a part of the body,

Just taking your time.
