Namaste.
Thank you for joining me today for this meditation.
If in this phase of your life you feel lost and confused,
I want to tell you that it's okay.
It's okay to be lost.
And I hope that the following word can help you see the light in this season of your life and offer you comfort wherever you are in the world.
I'll give you a few minutes to find a comfortable position.
Relax your body and shoulders.
Unclench your jaw.
Look after your spine.
Stay with me now.
All is well.
Just follow my voice.
Dear one,
The backpack of my past and fear of my future,
I long to set out on a journey to escape it all.
My dear friend,
I know how it feels to carry that backpack around time after time.
I know,
I know,
As I too have been there.
Just like you are right now,
I too find myself lost often,
Full of uncertainties about my being,
My place in the world,
My future,
The worries of my family.
I went out in the world to find me.
I felt that moving away from home will help me find my home somewhere in the world.
I tried to escape it by running away from all that was familiar in hopes that I will find comfort in the arms of unknown.
From journeying to different places in buses,
Trains and planes,
I looked for the moments of peace in the constant flow of my travels.
The constant move I called it,
Looking for something unheard,
Unknown and unfelt.
Looking for something that I would only find when it appears in front of me.
Trying to find myself in a story,
In the faces of strangers.
I do not know when it comes,
But I am waiting for it to come and embrace me.
Months passed by,
My heart still journeying to find something that will solace me and bring that long lasting stillness that the monks talk about.
But after several moments,
Numerous train rides and plane takeoffs and life's constant change,
The backpack was finally opened and the fear dissolved.
A realization dawned upon me that the home I seek was not something outside of me,
Something to find in the world.
But it was right here.
It was in me.
It was always within me.
The peace I longed for was hidden somewhere in the chaos of my thoughts.
Slowly and steadily,
I brought out the things in my backpack and only when I sat with it and acknowledged it,
I let it all go.
Some took longer,
Some just faded away.
But slowly and gradually,
It all left.
Here I was.
My home.
It was me.
Dear friend,
I promise you,
You'll find that stillness within.
There's no other way.
It dwells in your deepest and most vulnerable parts.
Pause and acknowledge it.
And let your stillness surface.
It won't wait or announce itself.
It'll just surface within like a ripple on water when a leaf falls on it.
Quiet but magnificent.
The stillness showed me that what I seek in all those who crossed my path were actually a reflection of me.
It was me and the process of the life.
Because I am a process of knowing and unknowing.
Dear one,
As you embrace the beauty as well as the oddity in yourself,
As you embrace your confusion as well as your determination and stronghold,
Dear one,
As you embrace you being lost and you being confident,
As you embrace your vulnerability just as you embrace your courage,
I hope in these moments,
You connect with your stillness.
Now,
Keep both of your hands on your heart and close your eyes.
And close your eyes.
Feel your heart and the love and the warmth that you are.
The beauty that is stored right here in this moment.
Take a deep breath in.
And out through the mouth.
One more time now.
Take a deep breath in.
And out through the mouth.
Last one.
Take a deep breath in.
And let it out through your mouth.
Bring your awareness to your body.
To the point of touch.
Your hands.
Your feet.
The sounds around you.
Temperature in the room.
How do you feel in this moment?
All is well,
My dear friend.
Thank you for being here with me.
I hope you are well wherever you are in the world.
We will connect again soon.
Have a great day.
Bye.
