Hi there.
Sit with me for a moment.
Let's ground.
That just means that we're going to connect with our bodies and with the present moment.
We're going to do that today by activating one of our senses.
But first let's start by taking a nice,
Long,
Slow,
Deep breath in through your nose.
Make it the biggest breath you've taken yet today.
And when you get to the top of your breath,
Hold it for just a moment.
And then let it out fully and deeply,
Letting your exhale be a little bit longer than your inhale.
And now if you're comfortable,
Close your eyes down or you can cap them,
Which means to look at the floor or whatever is directly in front of you.
Let's sit together for a few moments and listen to the sounds around you.
Start with what's in your immediate vicinity.
As you listen,
You may notice that some of the sounds that typically fall into the backdrop start to make their way forward.
As you hear them,
Listen without judgment of what's pleasant or unpleasant.
Now stretch your hearing a little further.
Perhaps listening to sounds that are in a room nearby or outside.
Good.
Notice how your body feels.
And now open your eyes and look at me.
