Today we're going to take ourselves into a state of relaxation.

We're going to practice by the sea,

Listening to the sounds,

Feeling the earth beneath our body and feeling our surroundings.

So start by making yourself comfortable.

You may want to sit or lie down,

Loosening any tight clothing and adjusting your position so you can relax.

If you're laying down,

Feel free to use a pillow,

An eye covering or pop something under your knees if you feel you need an extra support or a warm blanket.

Begin by closing your eyes gently.

Let your legs drop and feel your feet fall to the side.

Let your arms hang heavy by your sides.

Notice your breathing begin to relax as you inhale and exhale.

It slows down and becomes naturally more relaxed.

Unclench your jaw,

Let the tongue relax in the palate of your mouth.

Release the tension in your brow and allow your body to become soft.

Take a deep breath in and as you exhale,

Feel the muscles in the area you are focusing on become more relaxed.

Imagine breathing in relaxation and breathing out tension.

Feel your muscles relaxing,

Becoming loose.

Your limbs are feeling heavy and relaxed.

Your eyelids feel very heavy.

Close down your eyelids if you haven't already.

Imagine that you are by the ocean.

You're wrapped in a soft cotton blanket,

Laying in the soft sand.

You can feel the warmth from the sand beneath you flowing into your body as you lay here.

The sand is so soft,

Like a cloud.

The sun is setting,

The skies clouded with puffs of pastel colours of pink,

Orange and yellow as the sun begins to set on the horizon.

You can smell the gentle aroma of salt as you take a deep breath in and out.

Your breath slowly flows out.

Your skin notices the softness of the summer night breeze as it carries your worries of the day away out to sea.

The sounds of crickets grow stronger as the sun begins to set.

You lay there still,

Quiet,

Just listening to the sounds around you.

You can feel the warmth from the sand beneath you.

You can feel the warmth from the sand beneath you.

As you make the journey back to your mind,

Your body lays still.

Your body is warm,

Your heart is content and your mind is clear.

As the waves flowed in and out,

They washed your mind,

Your body,

Of all that was clouding it.

As we bring awareness back to our body,

Begin by moving your fingertips.

Wriggle your toes.

Let your tongue move around your mouth,

Moving across the front of your teeth.

Open your mouth,

Stretch your jaw as you lengthen your body,

Moving your arms overhead into a deep stretch behind you.

Feel the energy make its way back through the body,

Flowing from the fingertips all the way down to the toes.

Keep with you the feeling of peace and calm you had while you were relaxing.

Just notice the breath,

How slow and relaxed it feels.

As you open your eyes,

Just sit quietly for a moment.

When you're ready,

Bring your hands to your heart.
