Welcome to your guided body appreciation meditation.

We are here today to send some love to the skin you're in and to feel gratitude.

Before we get started,

Please take a moment to get comfortable.

Whether seated or lying down,

Make sure that you are in a position that you can comfortably sustain for the next few minutes.

When you're ready,

Close your eyes.

Take three deep breaths.

Just arriving.

Just being here.

Quite often this is one of the most challenging parts is slowing down.

Congratulations,

You've done it.

You are here.

So just arrive,

Slow your breathing.

And now consciously begin to relax your face.

Relax all of the little muscles around your eyes and your forehead.

Relax your jaw.

Relax your scalp and your neck.

Allow your shoulders to just drip down your back and allow yourself to just feel grounded.

Arrive.

Wherever your body contacts the surface beneath you.

Feel that gentle caress.

You are being held.

You are being supported.

Each of us has a part or parts of our bodies that we are more uncomfortable with.

That we struggle to appreciate.

That we just cannot understand how we could ever love.

Perhaps this is on your face.

Perhaps it's your thighs.

Maybe it's your bum.

Maybe it's your hands or your belly.

Maybe there's a few things that come up for you.

Today we are going to gently send love through various parts of our bodies.

And understand that this is a practice.

If you feel hesitation,

If you feel uncertain,

Or if you feel like there's just no way you could ever appreciate this,

You're having a challenge with it.

I invite you to just do your best where you are.

Do your best to drop in,

To be present and understand that it is a process.

This is a practice.

And that bringing that kindness and that compassion and that understanding is the most important tool that you have.

We are going to begin at the top of the body and slowly work our way down through various parts.

So begin by taking your hands and placing them on your face.

Wherever feels most comfortable,

Perhaps it's your forehead,

Your cheeks,

Maybe it's your scalp,

The back of your head.

Just gently place your hands and feel the warmth from your hands.

And gently but surely send love through your hands.

Send compassion through your hands.

Send kindness through your hands.

Just feel that start to seep through your hands into your head or into your face.

Gently,

Slowly slide your hands down to your chest over your collarbones.

Breathe into this space.

Again,

We're sending love.

We're sending compassion,

Even gratitude for your beautiful body,

For your strong body.

Underneath your hands are your lungs.

Underneath your hands are some of the most important parts that keep you working.

Be grateful.

Gently slide your hands down so that they're over your rib cage.

Below your breasts,

Above your belly button.

Feel this area of your body.

Perhaps it's firm.

Perhaps it's soft.

This part of your body contains your vital organs.

They work tirelessly to keep you alive.

It's an absolute miracle,

All of the processes that they go through day in and day out just to keep you here.

So slowly,

Gently,

Surely send love,

Send compassion,

Send gratitude into your body.

Slide your hands lower so that they're resting on your lower abdomen.

This is an area of the body that many struggle with on a constant basis.

We are not nice to our bellies.

The thing is,

Is that bellies are not meant to look one way.

Bellies come in all shapes and sizes.

No one is better than any other.

Do your best to send love,

Appreciation,

And kindness to this part of your body.

Perhaps you have stretch marks.

Perhaps you're a little bit wobbly,

A little bit softer than you think you should be.

And just trust that in this moment,

Your body is absolutely perfect.

And it is as it should be.

Slide your hands down onto your thighs.

Feel their firmness.

Feel their softness.

Send them love.

Your thighs are strong.

The bone inside your thighs,

Your femur is the longest bone in your body.

Therefore also the heaviest and the strongest.

It's also where bone marrow is made.

It is amazing.

And whether you have cellulite or dimples,

Or maybe a little bit of softness where you'd like to have firmness.

Send this part of your body some appreciation and some love for all of its amazing thing that it does for you every single day,

Every moment.

Now if you can reach,

Slide your hands down to your feet.

If you cannot reach your feet,

You can just allow your hands to rest on your thighs.

Visualize touching your feet.

Gently caress your feet.

Your feet carry you through this world.

They support you.

They help you live out your dreams.

They help you have fun,

They allow you to run.

Play with your loved ones.

Explore the world around you.

Your feet are expected to look a certain way.

They're expected to fit into uncomfortable shoes.

They're rarely appreciated for the millions upon millions of steps they will take you through in your life.

Send your feet some love,

Some appreciation.

When you're ready,

Just allow your hands to rest in any comfortable position.

Perhaps resting on one part of the body,

Perhaps open on your knees or by your sides.

And this love that you have been stepping into this love and appreciation you have been cultivating for your body.

We're just going to feel that even stronger now.

Allow that feeling of love to seep into every pore of your body.

Picture it as a beautiful golden light that surrounds you.

It blankets your whole body in this beautiful loving caress.

And understand that this light is always with you.

It's always inside of you.

And you can tap into it at any time you choose.

Sometimes love can feel challenging.

That's okay.

Remember,

This is a practice.

Allow yourself the space.

Give yourself grace.

Be patient and trust that you are exactly where you should be.

And as you should be in each individual moment.

Your body is perfect.

Your body's only job is to keep you alive.

Your body is not meant to look a certain way.

It's not meant to be perfect or to meet society's ideals.

It is meant to keep you alive so that you can truly live.

So the next time you find yourself stepping into that place of being critical,

Stepping into that place of being challenged with what you see looking back in the mirror.

Remember,

You are perfect.

Your body deserves love.

No matter what.

Your body deserves acceptance.

You are a child of this planet.

As we begin to wrap up,

Take this feeling of love and acceptance with you into your day.

And perhaps set an intention.

How do you want to show up for yourself?

Take a moment now.

Set your intention.

And when you're ready,

You can gently wiggle your fingers and toes.

Open your eyes and come back.

Have a beautiful day.
