Welcome to our butterfly body scan.
Either comfortable seats or lay down and close your eyes.
Think of a butterfly and picture it in your mind.
What does it look like?
Is it light as a feather?
Is it heavy?
It can look exactly like you want it to.
Mine always has purple and green wings.
Do you have a picture of a butterfly in your mind?
Let's pretend that your butterfly has special powers and it helps you relax different parts of your body just by laying meat on them.
Let's give it a try.
Let's imagine that the butterfly is flying by and lands on your forehead.
So when it does,
Your forehead feels warm,
Your muscles relax.
Imagine the butterfly floats to one shoulder and as it rests there,
Your shoulder starts to feel pleasant and warm and it relaxes.
And now to the other shoulder.
As the butterfly lands there,
What is happening?
Does your shoulder feel warm and fuzzy?
Does it feel relaxed?
Are you ready for the butterfly to move?
Imagine that the butterfly floats off of your shoulder and lands on your belly and as it rests there lightly moving its wings,
Your belly relaxes.
For a few moments,
Relax with your butterfly and feel the steady breathing moving in and out.
You can put your hand on your tummy and feel the movement of your breathing going up and down,
In and out of your body.
Now your butterfly wants to ride your belly breath.
Take a deep breath in the belly and the butterfly rise.
Slowly exhale out in the belly and the butterfly fall.
Another deep breath in the belly and the butterfly rise.
Exhale out in the belly and the butterfly fall.
Next deep breath in the belly and the butterfly rise.
Exhale releasing it all out in the belly and the butterfly fall.
Next your butterfly floats in the air to your knees and then your toes.
When it lands on your toes,
It makes your entire body feel warm and comfortable and completely relaxed from head to toe.
Filling your mind with all of the colors of your butterfly,
The thoughts of peace,
Happiness,
And joy.
All of the things that make you smile.
Keeping your eyes closed,
You can start to wake your body by wiggling your toes and fingers,
Rocking your head from side to side.
Now open your eyes and feel your body against the floor.
Slowly stretch your arms overhead like you just woke up in the morning.
Roll to one side to slowly sit up.
Namaste little yogis.
Namaste.
