With one hand on your heart and the other on your solar plexus just above the navel,
Gently bring your awareness to your breath.
At a pace that feels good for you,
Breathe deeply.
Feel the sensation of each inhalation and exhalation,
Taking the position of the observer,
Judging nothing,
Simply allowing,
Simply watching.
Anchor your awareness on your breath.
Anchor your awareness on your breath.
Listen to this short story and imagine your own experience with anxiety.
Every day I wake up with the heaviness of anxiety in my chest.
It's a nagging squeeze on my lungs.
It feels like I can't take a deep enough breath no matter how much air I take in.
Sometimes it drops to my stomach and I feel like I'm falling in an elevator.
This energy is always present.
Sometimes are worse than others,
But it's always there.
I hate this feeling.
I suppress it because I don't want to feel this way.
I use affirmations and convince myself that everything is okay.
Constantly convincing myself that there's nothing to worry about,
That everything's fine,
You're okay.
But no matter how much I deny this feeling,
It doesn't work.
I try ignoring it.
I try yelling at it,
But nothing works.
Let me go.
Just leave.
Why are you always here?
Everything I do,
Everywhere I go,
You're still there.
Why can't I just live my life?
What are you here for anyways?
Ask yourself,
Anxiety,
What are you here for?
Listen to what it has to say.
What message does it have for you?
Be kind with yourself here.
This is a safe space.
Lean into your heart.
Find who you are.
Open your inner eye and look inside yourself.
Find anxiety.
Locate it in your body.
Look straight at it.
What does it look like?
Is it a dense cloud of smoke?
A spiky ball of energy?
Look this real for yourself.
Now,
Move your focus to your heart space and begin to cultivate love.
Think of what brings you joy and happiness.
The smile of your best friend,
The sweet laugh of your child,
Your favorite meal.
All of the people who love you and whom you love.
Allow images of pink and gold to flood your mind.
It's okay if this brings a smile to your face.
Feel the power of this field of love that you've just created within yourself.
With this loving energy,
Imagine white light radiating through your palms and into your body.
Into your heart space.
Into your solar plexus.
Lighting your chest,
Abdomen,
Arms,
Legs,
And head with this brilliant light.
See your anxiety in your mind.
Send this bright,
Loving,
Heart-centered light into your anxiety.
Blasting the dark cloud,
The ball of energy with pure light.
Your love.
We know that all darkness is simply the absence of light.
It has no unique qualities of its own.
In this loving light,
Nothing but peace exists.
Underneath the darkness,
Behind the cloud,
What do you see?
Who is looking back at you?
So let's try telling our own,
Special inner world and outside world,
A center of all See that behind the tough exterior,
All that anxiety really is,
Is fear.
A misguided perception of vulnerability,
Of not being enough,
Of not having enough,
Of not doing enough.
But in divine reality,
The only true reality that exists,
You are perfect.
See the scared part of your inner self.
Extend both of your arms and bring this splintered aspect of yourself into your loving embrace and say,
It's okay.
You don't have to look out for us anymore.
I've got this.
There's nothing to be scared of.
Give this part of yourself permission to rest.
Permission to put its armor down and just be.
Thank it for looking out for you and lovingly invite it back into your whole self.
Back into your heart.
In this moment,
Feel all heaviness dissolve.
Feel the weight of the burden you've been carrying begin to feel lighter.
Notice the peacefulness of your mind.
This is who you truly are.
This is your divine nature.
You are light.
You are love.
You are whole.
There is nothing wrong with you.
Remember to come back to this inner stillness.
Anytime your mind begins to run away with thoughts of fear,
Lack,
Limitation,
Know that these thoughts are not you.
They are simply projections of a small unhealed part of the egoic mind that is desperately in need of your love and attention.
Instead of ignoring,
Yelling,
Wishing it away,
Hold it in your loving embrace and reassure yourself that everything is okay.
Gently bring your awareness back to your physical senses and surroundings.
Noticing any noises in your room or outside.
Noticing the sensation of your weight on the surface below you.
Moving your body in any way that feels nice.
Thank yourself for spending this time today and doing something good for you.
When you're ready,
Open your eyes and enter back into your day with a little more love and a little more light.
Peace,
My friends.
