Welcome to your mantra meditation practice for when you feel like your recovery is too challenging for you.
When you feel like your eating disorder recovery isn't worth it or if it's just really difficult today.
Welcome to this meditation practice and I just want to congratulate you on respecting yourself,
Your mind,
Your body and your soul enough to pursue this practice.
So let's just get started by making sure you're in a very comfortable position with your back supported.
You can sit down or you can lie down.
It doesn't really matter just make sure you feel relaxed.
Let's start by just observing your breath.
Just taking a few moments to tune in.
You don't have to alter your breathing just yet.
Just notice your breathing and just tell yourself that it's time to meditate.
Now we are going to take some deep breaths to put our mind and our bodies into a more relaxed in tuned state.
So let's just take some deep inhales and you can hold it at the top for about two seconds and then breathe it out.
Hold at the bottom for about two seconds.
Just doing this deepening your breath and tuning into your body even more.
Now it's time to say the mantra in our minds and rediscover the truth in it.
So today's mantra is recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
Now I want you to think about this phrase in your mind on repeat.
Recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
Just take a few moments and breathe deeply while you say that phrase.
Recovery is challenging but it's always worth it in your mind.
You don't have to say it fast.
You don't have to say it with every breath but just say it as much as you feel like you can.
If you find that your mind is wandering just tune back and think about the phrase.
Recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
As you are saying this mantra I'm sure that you are feeling emotions that come up.
Now I want you to notice these emotions.
You can name them if you want.
You can call them something but I don't want you to engage with them.
I just want you to observe them as if you are somebody else looking into your life as if you're a bystander.
Just think about the emotions that you feel when you say the mantra recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
Just notice them.
Don't engage.
Just be aware and keep breathing deeply while saying the phrase.
Recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
Now I want you to notice these emotions just as you've been doing but also now notice the fears that are blocking you from making this mantra your reality and your truth fully and I want you to breathe out those fears and emotions.
I want you to take an inhale and think of the phrase recovery is challenging but it's always worth it and I want you to breathe out the emotions the fears whatever you feel is blocking you it's holding you back from really believing that to be true in your mind in your body in your soul.
This journey of recovery is not linear it really is a journey and just like everyone else's yours is gonna be unique it's gonna ebb and flow and it's definitely going to bring up difficult mental and physical challenges that you may feel is impossible to get over sometimes but I want you to remember today and every day that recovery full recovery is possible for you and you to serve to experience the freedom and clarity and life that recovery brings.
I believe that the wisdom that you will learn from recovery will take you farther in life than any eating disorder would so just remember recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
Now I want you if you can to whisper or say aloud however you want to do it if possible if not you can just say it in your mind just once or twice say with me recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
Maybe put your hand to your heart forgive yourself for some of the maybe mistakes that you've made in the past that have blocked you from believing this to be true and again let's say it together recovery is challenging but it's always worth it.
As we close I want to thank you again for honoring your body in your mind and trusting that your recovery is worth it.
I hope that you continue to say this mantra until it becomes true to you until it becomes your reality I truly believe that it will someday if you continue to trust the process so let's just open our eyes now you can take a little stretch get some movement back into your limbs get reconnected with the space around you maybe look at something you've never noticed before or something that you haven't noticed in a long time and just look at it for a little bit thank you again for being here bye for now
