Welcome to your transformational behaviors meditation practice.

This is a meditation practice to bring awareness and clarity on a behavior that you'd like to change.

Perhaps a behavior that you do when you're eating disorder that no longer serves you and one that you would like to let go.

So start by settling in,

Finding a comfortable place to sit or lay down,

Noticing your breath,

Relaxing your jaw,

Your shoulders,

And just preparing your mind to meditate.

Now begin to deepen your breath,

Taking a deep inhale,

Holding it at the top for two seconds and then letting it go on the out-breath and holding at the bottom for two seconds.

Do this for a few moments to settle into a meditative,

Relaxed state.

If your mind wanders,

It's okay.

Catch yourself and bring your focus back to your breath.

Now consider an eating disorder behavior or a trigger or simply a negative behavior that you're ready to let go of.

If you are overwhelmed with lots of options,

Don't worry.

Just focus on one behavior that's really impacting your life right now.

Considering this behavior will most likely bring up negative emotions,

But try not to let those sink in.

You're simply meditating on it.

It's not currently your reality.

So just consider the behavior from a bystander's view.

It is not you.

You know the emotions,

Feelings,

And sensations that this behavior brings up inside of you.

So now it's time to empower this behavior and empower you.

Consider a behavior that you would like to have done instead of the negative behavior that you just considered.

What is a behavior that would have brought you peace?

Imagine yourself doing this behavior instead of the negative one.

No matter how many times the old behavior tries to creep in,

Simply keep telling it that the new positive behavior is going to replace it instead.

Imagine this replacement in your mind again and again as you take deep breaths.

How much better would your life be if the new positive behavior replaced the negative one?

Again,

Don't engage as if you're really there.

Just watching as a bystander looking into your life.

What would happen to your life if you replaced the negative behavior with the new positive one?

What would happen to your recovery?

Now that you know you have the new positive behavior already inside of you,

It's there,

It's real.

Your intuition is active and you simply have to continue trusting this journey that you're on.

I want you to imagine a situation in the future in which you would do the new positive behavior instead of the old negative behavior.

Could you try that today or next week?

Next time you feel like engaging in the old negative behavior,

Try taking a deep breath,

Maybe even listening to this meditation or just taking a pause to recenter and ask yourself if you could listen to your healthy self now and try the positive behavior instead.

It's okay if you make mistakes.

Just keep trying as hard as you can and know that you have a choice in the matter and a future that looks very bright.

Now that you know it's possible,

You can choose this behavior next time.

Each time you do this meditation,

Each time you implement the new behavior,

It will become more and more your truth and your reality.

It will get easier to make the positive choice because your body will thank you.

I invite you to journal now after this meditation to reflect on how this was for you.

It can be really challenging to consider our behaviors,

But the reality is that we do have a choice and you are making the change.

Let's get reconnected back into the space you're in by opening your eyes slowly,

Getting some movement back into your limbs and your fingers and your toes.

Just reconnecting back into your space.

Thank you so much and until next time.
