Welcome to this practice,
I'm Kate,
And I'm so glad you found me here.
If you've landed on this practice,
Perhaps you're not feeling quite yourself this morning.
Maybe a little low in mood,
Maybe a little anxious,
Or just feeling a little lacking in hope,
Positivity.
And that's okay,
We all wake up feeling that sometimes.
In this short practice together,
I'll guide you through a short exercise to help you ease any difficult feelings,
Accept how you are this morning,
And allow you to move into your day feeling a little more grounded,
A little more you.
So,
Making sure you're comfortable,
Whatever that means for you,
And then gently closing the eyes down or softening the gaze if that feels more comfortable.
And let's begin by really noticing how it feels to be resting here this morning.
Noticing the connection between your body and the surface beneath you,
And really allowing the weight of your body to sink in,
To be held and supported,
Perhaps by the chair or the bed,
Wherever you're resting.
Letting your body be held.
And as you notice your body and its weight sinking deeper into the earth below,
Seeing if you can allow a real letting go and easing in the body.
And as you allow your body to find its grounding,
Its steadiness,
Just taking a moment to reflect on how you're feeling,
And remembering that it's okay not to feel full of positivity and full of hope all the time.
Some mornings that's just not possible.
And instead,
Calling on what might feel just okay in this moment as you sit here this morning.
Perhaps noticing the sounds around you.
Connecting in with the softness of the breath.
Perhaps noticing how the breath sounds as you breathe in,
And how it sounds as you breathe out.
And appreciating that gentle softness.
And perhaps noticing the softness of your clothing,
Or a blanket that might be lying on you.
And appreciating the softness of clothing against skin.
Appreciating how that feels.
And now noticing the air against your skin.
Perhaps it's warm.
Perhaps it's cool.
But just noticing the places where the air touches your skin.
Maybe on the face.
Maybe on the hands.
Perhaps on the feet.
Just noticing the softness,
The gentleness of the air all around you.
Just connecting in with the gentleness of the present moment.
And resting in that for a little while.
And as we move towards the end of our short time together,
Just thinking forward to the end of your day.
And imagining how you'd like to feel as you move into this new morning.
Perhaps a little more hopeful,
A little more present.
Perhaps appreciating the small little things throughout your morning,
Throughout your day.
And just noticing what feels right and then sealing that in.
You might want to place just one hand on your heart to really seal in the intention you have.
For the rest of your day.
Sealing in that tone,
That feeling that you'd like to feel more of as you head into the morning ahead.
And as your hand rests on your heart,
Just connecting in with the rise and fall of the breath as you seal in this intention for your day.
And then in your own time,
Moving your hand back down to rest on your lap or by your side.
And just taking a moment to notice how you're doing,
If anything's shifted.
And sealing in any benefits.
And remembering that you can come back to this practice any time you wake up feeling a little low in mood,
A little flat.
You can repeat it as often as you need to give yourself a little lift,
A little more grounding,
A little more peace.
Thank you so much for taking the time to practice with me today.
And I hope to see you soon.
Take care.
