So I thought I'd record this practice in the very early morning because there's something about doing a meditation very early or whenever you wake up that can really set up your whole day.

Just by taking a little time before you get into doing mode you can really set an intention and a feeling that carries into your whole day.

It's something that I've been practicing for a very long time and I really notice difference in the tone of my day if I don't have time or somehow prioritize something else instead of my practice.

So just encouraging you to carve out a little time in the morning whatever feels possible and practical for you.

I know we all have commitments and busy lives so really this is just an invitation to take maybe five minutes,

Ten minutes,

20 minutes in your morning to find a little stillness to set the intention for the rest of your day.

And so now I'm just inviting you to close down the eyes or if it's more comfortable for you just lowering your gaze to the floor and just taking a moment to go inwards and starting by just noticing where you're sitting this morning or where you're lying,

Really feeling into the connection of your body with the chair you're sitting on or maybe the bed you're lying on and just seeing if you can allow a real letting go,

A sinking in,

Just allowing your body to root into the surface beneath it.

There's something incredibly soothing about grounding ourselves in our bodies.

We're so often in our heads and so just by starting the day connecting with our bodies you can really find a sense of grounding and peace that we can carry with us through the rest of our day.

So just being curious about how the body is feeling this morning,

Moving from that place of connection between the body and the surface beneath it and moving more generally now into your body and just taking a few moments to scan the body from the head all the way down to the toes,

Really taking your time and as you do this just noticing what's here this morning,

Noticing how the body is doing,

Perhaps noticing places of tightness,

Tension and as you pass these places in the body seeing if you can bring a little softening around them,

Just allowing them to be,

Perhaps slowly breathing into these places of tension,

Imagining any knots,

Any tightness dissolving with every breath that you take into this area and when you've released one area moving down the body,

Seeing what you find there,

Noticing the places of ease as well as the places of tension.

Our body has many textures and sensations and every morning it will feel different.

So just bringing a real sense of curiosity as to what you find here today,

Moving on down through the body,

Noticing what you notice and welcoming it all,

A sense of kindness almost as if you're coming home to your body,

Accepting it just as it is,

Not forgetting to breathe and soften any places of tension and if you've moved all the way through the body,

Perhaps trying it one more time,

Starting at the head and slowly moving down through the body,

Connecting in with every part of the body,

Allowing it to really soften and ease,

Accepting it all and if the mind wonders at any point,

Just knowing that that's okay and that's part of the practice and just gently guiding the attention back to the body,

Wherever your attention chooses,

Wherever feels most natural,

Really letting go into the body,

Into all of its sensations,

Seeing if you can imagine the body now in its wholeness,

The tightness,

The ease,

The softening and noticing how you can bring a real sense of wholeness to the body by bringing it into your mind's eye,

This body resting here and now moving your awareness to the breath,

Just seeing where you find the breath this morning,

Perhaps in the chest or the nostrils or deep down in the belly and just allowing the breath to be just as it is,

Noticing it as it rises and falls,

Effortlessly moving in your body,

The whole body breathing and as we move slowly towards the end of this short grounding practice,

Connecting back in with the body resting here,

Noticing that connection between the body and the feet with the surface beneath them and seeing if you can just sink a little deeper,

Really allowing that final sense of softening of the body,

That sense of ease and release and as you get ready to head into your day,

Taking a moment to notice how you're doing,

If anything's changed in this short time we've had together and really sealing it in,

Sealing in the benefits and finally just setting an intention for the rest of your day,

How would you like to feel as you head into this day you have ahead,

Are you looking for more energy,

Maybe more clarity,

Maybe a sense of grounding,

A sense of peace,

A sense of connection with others,

Just seeing what feels right for you and just setting that intention in your mind of how you'd like to feel as you head into your day and just by setting an intention in the morning in this way,

It will ripple out into the way you feel,

The way you behave,

The way you interact with others,

So really feeling into that intention in your mind's eye,

That feeling you want to cultivate today and when you feel ready,

No rush,

Just slowly bringing some awareness back into the body by gently wiggling the toes and then wiggling the fingers and when it feels right,

Gently opening the eyes,

Coming back into your room and into your day,

Thank you so much for joining me here and I wish you the most wonderful day ahead,

Take care.
