Get ready for the day with this quick six-minute centering meditation. You are nothing short of miraculous, yet sometimes life can seem mundane and entangled in minutiae, but taking time to wonder at the life all around us, to center in the miracles that are unfolding around us breath by breath and moment by moment, awakens our senses and revives our connection to seeing all life as wonder-full and worthy of awe.

Hi,

Everyone.

I'm Kate.

And let's get centered in wonder and awe.

Before we begin,

As you sit quietly,

Look around the space that you are in.

And just observe what is in front of you.

Maybe you're looking out a window.

Maybe a bookshelf.

You're seeing the items of your daily living surrounding you.

And then gently close your eyes and begin to settle in.

Allow yourself to be exquisitely comfortable,

To feel completely supported by your seat.

Feel your feet on the earth and the crown of your head pressing up to the sky.

And notice with your eyes closed,

That you can still see.

In your mind's eye,

You can see your space,

The window,

The bookshelf,

The things around you for daily living.

Even with your eyes closed,

You can see.

And you can even see snow falling on a quiet night.

The glow of lights on slick pavement.

We can even see the faces we love and the Grand Canyon.

Even though we may have never set foot in its terrain.

We can see because there is a mind that knows no limits.

It sees all and it imagines all.

And this mind has created everything that is,

Has been and will be.

And by a thread of miraculous connection,

This is our mind too.

So here in this miracle,

With your eyes closed,

You can see a brilliant falling star,

A perfect half moon,

And even the Milky Way stretched out in all of its star splashed mystery.

Without ever opening your eyes.

So when we slow down,

When we find our way home to this,

Becoming fully present to this wonder,

We find wonder in every breath.

And ah,

When we realize that even the smallest of occurrences,

The shiny iridescence of a soap bubble,

The smell of that first cup of coffee,

The bite of a cold wind on our skin is really the divine mind creating miracle after miracle.

On our behalf,

Allow your heart to fill with the wonder and awe of it all.

From the grand to the mundane,

From the miraculous to the minutiae,

In the quiet of this moment,

Being present to all that is unfolding around us,

Breath by breath,

Moment by moment.

Connecting to a place of wonder and allowing it to feel familiar throughout our day,

Allowing it to feel like home.

So today,

Open yourself to a joy ride of wonder and awe.

Open your heart to the beauty of this day.

Open your mind to the messages,

To the scenery,

To the actions,

To the community imagineered just for you.

Today is nothing short of a miracle.

Because everything is a miracle.

And so it is.
