Hello and welcome to a Yoga Nidra meditation.

This meditation has been designed as a sleep meditation,

But can be also used during the day when you need to put your body into a state of relaxation and restoration.

Let's begin by lying down in a comfortable position.

Make sure you are warm and cozy,

That you won't be disturbed for the next few minutes.

Take a deep breath in through your nose,

And exhale out through your mouth.

Let go,

Let go,

Let go of any tension in your body.

Bring your awareness to your right hand.

Feel the sensation of your right hand resting on the surface beneath you.

Now,

Let go,

Let go,

Let go of any tension in your right hand.

Bring your awareness to your left hand.

Feel the sensation of your left hand resting on the surface beneath you.

Now,

Let go,

Let go,

Let go of any tension in your left hand.

Bring your awareness to your right foot.

Feel the sensation of your right foot resting on the surface beneath you.

Now,

Let go of any tension in your right foot.

Let go,

Let go,

Let go.

Bring your awareness to your left foot.

Feel the sensation of your left foot resting on the surface beneath you.

Now,

Let go,

Let go,

Let go of any tension in your left foot.

Bring your awareness to your right leg.

Feel the sensation of your right leg resting on the surface beneath you.

Yes,

Let go of any tension in your right leg.

Bring your awareness to your left leg.

Feel the sensation of your left leg resting on the surface beneath you.

Now,

Let go of any tension in your left leg.

Bring your awareness to your abdomen.

Feel the rise and fall of your breath in your abdomen.

Now,

Let go of any tension in your abdomen.

Bring your awareness to your chest.

Feel the rise and fall of your breath in your chest.

Now,

Let go of any tension in your chest.

Bring your awareness to your shoulders.

Feel the sensation of your shoulders resting on the surface beneath you.

Now,

Let go of any tension in your shoulders.

Bring your awareness now to your neck.

Feel the sensation of your neck resting on the surface beneath you.

Now,

Let go of any tension in your neck.

Bring your awareness to your face.

Let go of any tension in your forehead,

Your eyes,

Your cheeks,

Your jaw,

And your mouth.

Imagine that you're floating on a cloud,

High up in the sky.

Feel the lightness of your body,

And the peace that comes with being weightless.

Imagine that you're surrounded by a soft,

Warm light.

This light is filling your entire body,

From your toes to the top of your head.

Let this light calm and soothe you.

Imagine that you're in a beautiful,

Peaceful place.

It could be a forest,

A beach,

A mountain,

Or anywhere else that feels peaceful and calming to you.

Take a few moments to enjoy the beauty and serenity of this place.

Now,

Bring your awareness back to your breath.

Take a few deep,

Slow breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

When you're ready,

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,

And slowly bring yourself back to a seated position.

Take a moment to notice how you feel.

Thank yourself for taking this time to rest and rejuvenate.

Namaste.
