Welcome,

My name is Kristin and I'm guiding you through a yoga nidra meditation for inner peace and calm.

Take a moment to settle into a restful position with blankets and pillows.

Sense the connection between your body and the earth,

Your body and the sky.

Imagine a sphere of protective light around your body,

Your whole body receiving the warmth and the radiance of the light.

Breathing in through your nose and releasing breath through your mouth,

Allowing the movement of your breath to become effortless like a flowing river that carries you deeper into relaxation.

Become fully present in your body and mind.

All you need to do is stay aware of the sound of my voice.

Close your eyes and rest the quiet space at your eyebrow center.

Soften the tissue around your eyes,

Forehead and temples.

Your awareness flowing from eyes to ears to the sensation of warmth through the curves of your ears and deep into the inner ear canal.

Expand your sense of hearing to the sounds and vibrations in the room around you.

Share of sounds far away in the distance to sounds closer around you to the sound of your breath rising and falling through the back of your throat.

Waves of breath through your whole body.

Follow the movement of your breath with your attention.

The movement of your breath through your nose into the currents of coolness and warmth that pass through each nostril.

Sounds of breath as the current transforms from cool to warm,

Flowing over the top of your lip.

Your awareness moves from your lips to your teeth and tongue.

Your whole mouth filled with sensations of warmth and radiance.

Your awareness inside your mouth.

Feel the subtle touch of air across the surface of your skin.

The palms of your hands open to the sky above.

The soles of your feet receptive to the earth below.

Feel the pores of your skin open to receive the warmth and radiance of the light.

Your whole body breathing in the light.

Your inner journey is guided by sankalpa,

An intention that arises from the knowing of your heart.

To connect with your sankalpa,

Take a moment and listen to the heartbeat in your chest.

Sense into the rhythm of life,

The pulse of life that runs through you into the warmth of the heart space.

Ask your heart in this moment,

What do I need?

Stay present to the medicine that arises for you.

It might be an impression that you can transform into words,

Into one word that resonates for you,

That you can feel deeply within your bones.

Transform your word into an I am statement.

I am peaceful.

I am calm.

I am present.

Give the power of your attention to your sankalpa and speak it now in your own mind three times with resonance.

Feeling the vibration of your intention through every cell of your body.

And from your heart,

Rest your loving awareness into your physical body,

Into your foundation of muscle,

Tissue and bone,

To the part of you that's interconnected to the life force of the earth.

Your awareness becomes like a thread of light that soothes your nervous system and carries sensations of warmth and relaxation to all parts of your body.

Begin by softening the space between your eyebrows.

Your awareness flows like water into your throat.

From your throat,

Deep into the center of your chest.

Sensations of warmth spreading across your chest,

Flowing into the shoulder sockets.

Bone along the hollows of your arm bones to the palms of your hands.

Awareness rests in the palms of your hands.

Feel the life force of your hands,

Warmth and sensation at your fingertips.

Awareness flows to the right hand thumb.

Second finger.

Third finger.

Fourth finger.

Pinky finger.

Into the open spaces between the fingers.

Feel your right hand heavy on the earth.

Wrist.

Forearm.

Elbow.

Upper arm.

Right shoulder.

Armpit.

Side waist.

Right hip.

Eye.

Knee cap.

The space beneath the knee.

Lower leg.

Right ankle.

Heel.

Soul of the right foot.

On the top of the right foot.

Right big toe.

Second toe.

Third.

Fourth.

Pinky toe.

Offers between the toes.

Feeling the warmth of the whole right side of your body.

Awareness flows to the left hand thumb.

Finger,

Third finger,

Fourth finger,

Pinky finger,

Into the open spaces between the fingers.

Feel your left hand heavy on the earth.

Wrist,

Forearm,

Elbow,

Upper arm,

Left shoulder,

Armpit,

Side waist,

Left hip,

Thigh,

Kneecap,

The space beneath the knee,

Lower leg,

Ankle,

Heel,

Sole of your left foot,

Top of your left foot,

Left big toe,

Second toe,

Third,

Fourth,

Pinky toe,

Feeling into the spaces between your toes,

Warmth through the whole left side of your body.

Soften the space of your throat,

The root of the tongue,

Center of your tongue,

Tip of your tongue,

Sensation through your upper lip,

Lower lip,

Sensations of warmth between your lips.

Awareness flows to your chin,

Cheekbones,

And nose,

The tip of your nose,

Left nostril,

Right nostril,

Left eyelid,

Right eyelid,

Left eyebrow,

Right eyebrow,

The quiet space between your eyebrows,

Both temples,

Forehead.

Soften the expression on your face,

Top of your head,

Base of your head,

Feel your whole head radiant,

Back of your neck,

Both shoulders,

Chest,

Upper back,

Ribcage,

Mid-back,

Abdomen,

Lower back,

Pelvis,

Sensing the warmth along the whole length of your spine.

Feel the left side of your body,

The right side of your body,

The left and right sides together,

Both legs together,

Both arms together,

Head and torso together,

Your whole body together,

Your whole body floating in a sphere of light.

Feel your awareness unite with the current of your breath,

The movement of your breath effortless like a river flowing through the center of your body.

Feel your whole body carried by your breath deeper towards your inner source.

Sense into the breath that's so deeply connected to your spirit from your first breath to your last.

Sensing the spirit of your breath expanding through the front of your body,

Your breath expands through the front of your body and illuminates the space before you.

The whole front of your body opens to the river of your breath.

Now sense your breath flowing through the back of your body.

Your breath widens through the back of your body and opens into the space behind you.

The whole back of your body filled with fluid sensations of breath and sense your breath flow to the left side of your body,

The spirit of your breath expanding through the whole left side of your body and into the space beyond.

Awareness flows to the right side of your body.

Breath gently opening through the whole right side,

Touching the space beyond your body.

Front,

Back,

Left,

Right.

Breath opens in all directions.

The river of your breath in all directions,

Your whole body carried by your breath.

Place your loving awareness at the light in your heart,

One shining star inside of your heart.

Your heart perceives the world through the eyes of compassion and becomes a witness to the true nature of what's being seen.

Notice in this moment what is it that you perceive?

Can you sense the density of your body,

The bones of your body solid like the earth and feel the weight of your body as though you were sinking down through the layers of the earth,

Through dark soil,

Roots and stone,

Releasing all the heaviness that you hold on to.

Feel how solid sensations give way to the fluid motion of water.

Streams of sensation flowing through your arms and fingertips,

Legs and toes as though the water of a river were rushing through you cleansing your emotions and thoughts.

Your whole body like water in movement,

In motion.

Now fluid sensations transform to the internal heat of fire.

Feel the radiance of the fire at your heart center,

The innermost space of your heart awakening like a candle flame.

Sense into the heat and brilliance of the fire,

Allowing the heat to burn away anything that's no longer needed,

Liberating the energy bound up inside of you.

And the sensations of heat change into the lightness of air,

The lightness of the winds that blow through you and carry you into new directions.

Can you feel so light that your body floats off the ground toward the sky like a vaporous cloud,

Free to change and to transform?

And from lightness,

Sense the deep space that lives within you,

Your whole body empty like cosmic space.

In the stillness of space,

There's a light,

The innermost spark of pure potential.

Can you sense the light emerging from the space between your eyebrows?

One point of attention at the space between your eyebrows.

In this space,

You become witness to all images,

Impressions that appear on the screen of your mind.

Follow the sound of my voice and imagine the following symbols at your eyebrow center.

Darkness,

Red rose,

Waves on the ocean,

Deep blue sky in the evening,

Tiny shining stars in the heavens,

High mountain range with snow-capped peaks,

Flowing river,

Great red cedar in the forest,

A soaring eagle,

Snake shedding her skin,

Temple in the woods,

Burning fire,

Stormy night,

Full moon,

White buffalo in the field,

Crumbled stone wall,

Rose petals unfolding,

Rising sun,

Rising sun,

Rising sun.

Concentrate your awareness at the eyebrow center.

Visualize a lake with lotus flowers,

Hummingbirds sipping nectar,

The peak of a mountain,

Rainbow mist,

Green valley,

A beautiful sunset,

Singing birds silent puma in the forest,

Light through the trees,

Salmon swimming,

Lotus on top of the water,

Waves of the ocean,

Orca pod in the deep sea,

Full moon,

Calm and quiet evening,

Howling wolf,

Flowing river,

The symbol of the om,

A bell ringing,

A bell ringing,

A bell ringing,

Sinking deeper into the space between your eyebrows.

Imagine the light of the rising sun,

Clouds gathering in the sky,

Drops of rain,

Fog all around you,

A glowing lantern on the path,

Red rose,

White buffalo,

Apple leaf,

Hot water springs,

Red cedar in the forest,

Cluster of grapes,

Temple in the valley,

Lotus on the lake,

The symbol of the om.

Become aware of yourself and see your whole body from head to toe.

See your whole body lying on the earth.

Ask yourself,

Am I this body?

Now sense into the space of your mind,

Into the limited mind that tries to understand yourself and the world.

Am I this mind?

Look deeper within yourself and become aware of a golden pearl at the center of your brain.

Sense into the luminosity of the golden pearl at the center of your brain.

The golden pearl is your seat of consciousness,

The internal light of your awareness.

See yourself as the golden pearl,

As the luminous sphere of light that encompasses all things.

Become the luminous sphere of light and expand your awareness into the furthest reaches of space.

Sense yourself in this space,

A quiet space of love beyond your body,

Beyond your mind,

Floating in the light of your consciousness.

Know deep within yourself,

I am that.

Now is the time to repeat your sankalpa.

The intention that you created at the beginning of your practice.

Repeat your sankalpa three times now.

Embody the feeling of your sankalpa as you return through the layers of the self,

Breath by breath,

Returning to sensory awareness,

Into body awareness,

Into the waking consciousness of your dream.
