Welcome to this meditation inspired by Eckhart Tolle to help you get in touch with your inner sense of aliveness.
I want you to begin by coming into your comfortable seat.
Sat upright,
If you're sat on a chair make sure your feet are touching the ground.
If you're sat on the floor get nice and comfortable and just begin to lengthen through your spine and then soften through your shoulders,
Through your jaw and through your forehead.
As you settle into your seat come to close your eyes when you're ready.
With every inhale I want you to lengthen through your spine and with every exhale I want you to soften into your posture.
So relax through your shoulders,
Through your forehead,
Through your jaw and anywhere else you might be holding onto tension.
And now I want you to hold out your hand so keeping your eyes closed hold your hand out in front of you,
Any hand left or right and I want you to allow yourself to feel your hand.
And now ask yourself without touching anything,
Without moving your hand,
Without looking at your hand how do you know that your hand is still there?
Perhaps you notice that you can feel the inside of your hand,
A subtle sense of warmth or tingling.
And now you can place your hand back down wherever feels comfortable and we're going to slowly move our attention to the different parts of our body as we feel our inner sense of aliveness.
Starting with your feet.
Noticing how you are aware that your feet are still there without physically touching them or looking at them.
Becoming aware of the subtle sensations,
The tingling or anything else that helps you know that your feet are there.
Moving that awareness now to your legs,
To your lower leg,
Your knees and your upper legs.
Feeling that inner sense of aliveness within them.
Can you feel that subtle tingling or warmth?
Now moving your awareness to your glutes and your hips.
What sensations can you feel here that helps you know that your hips and your glutes are there without touching,
Looking or moving this area?
Sending that awareness now to your stomach,
To your chest and to your back.
Feeling into these areas of your body.
Sending that awareness to your shoulders.
Can you feel those subtle sensations in your shoulders?
And slowly moving down the length of your arms,
Your upper arms,
Your elbows,
Your forearms,
Your wrists,
Hands,
Fingers.
Allowing yourself to feel the aliveness within your arms.
Moving your awareness up to your neck,
Noticing how this area feels.
What sensations are present?
And gently moving to your face,
To your head.
Keeping completely still and noticing how this area feels.
What subtle sensations are present here?
And now I want you to take your awareness around your entire body.
Seeing if you can feel into that subtle awareness,
That subtle sense of warmth or tingling in the entire body.
That inner sense of aliveness and just allowing it to be present for a few moments.
And now slowly letting go of this awareness,
Just allowing the mind,
The body to do whatever it wishes for a few moments.
And gently when you're ready,
You can come to open your eyes,
Perhaps have a little stretch.
And if this is the first time you've done this,
It can feel quite profound.
So if you feel called to,
I encourage you to journal on your experience and perhaps even share it with someone.
Thank you and see you again.
