Happiness is available in every moment when we give thanks for what we have. In this simple practice, we take two minutes out of our day to reflect on someone or something that we are grateful for. How does it feel to express gratitude? Do you enjoy how you feel when you give thanks? Do you feel happy? If so, remember that you can come back to this feeling at any time, simply by pausing to focus on something that you're grateful for. It really is that simple.

Close your eyes.

Take a deep breath.

Think about one of your favorite things in the whole world.

This could be anything at all,

Your favorite person,

Your favorite place,

Your adorable pet,

The sound of birds chirping,

Your favorite ice cream.

Whatever it is,

Create a very clear image in your mind.

Now think about what you love about this person or thing.

What is it that you really appreciate?

How does this person or thing make you feel?

How does it add value and richness to your life?

And notice how you feel as you bring these things to mind.

And quietly say to them,

Thank you for being part of my life.

I appreciate you so much.

Take a full deep breath in and out.

Gently open your eyes.
