Hi friends,
Let's do a five minute grounding practice.
Start to find a little bit of sway somewhere in your body.
Right now I am rocking side to side,
Swiveling on my chair.
For you,
Maybe you want to bob up and down in your body.
Maybe you want to sway side to side while standing.
Maybe you're lying on the ground and you rock your knees back and forth.
Find some sort of motion that can bring you into one single point of focus.
And just feel yourself moving back and forth,
Side to side or up and down.
Start to find your breath,
Start to feel yourself slowly start to find your way back to the present moment,
To your body,
To you inside of you that exists in the world.
Take a deep breath in.
Maybe you're still moving side to side and then sigh it out.
Until you completely empty out that breath.
And then feel yourself start to come back,
Start to breathe in.
Start to find this new baseline.
Maybe this baseline is familiar to you.
You remember the moments of feeling grounded or feeling in your practice.
The mind is so powerful in that it can bring us back in an instant.
Let that be a beautiful thing in this moment.
Let it bring you back to a moment of peace or calm,
Relaxation,
And let it build on itself.
Maybe you see yourself in your favorite place in nature,
In a park,
On a beach,
In a forest,
Somewhere that you feel more like yourself when you're there.
Let that breath restore you,
Ease every part inside of you that isn't here with you right now in this moment.
Allow those parts to come back to you when they're ready.
To close it out,
See if you can find one place in your body or in your spirit that you can focus some energy of acceptance or love or care for.
Some part of you that deserves and craves your attention.
Focus on that part of you.
Feel your heart allowing some sort of nourishment to funnel into that place.
Maybe some kind or gentle words as well,
And allow that to simply be wherever you are.
Maybe you want to do a longer practice now,
Or maybe that's all you have time for,
But you did a beautiful job.
Thank you so much for practicing with me.
