Okay friends,
This practice is for when you're feeling overstimulated.
So we're going to bring that energy of presence and self-acceptance into the moment and start to shift that momentum that drives us into more and more of a spiral of overstimulation.
We're going to start to let that go,
Start to shift directions and kind of push that back out from our being.
This is a short practice so you may need to do this a couple of times or couple it with another practice if you're feeling particularly ungrounded but this is great for when you just want to break that cycle of overstimulation.
So the first thing we're going to do is start to rub your hands together,
Create some friction,
Feel the sensation on your palms and really bring your focus and your attention to it.
Feel every little bit of that sensation.
It might feel intense or overwhelming.
If it feels too intense or overwhelming you can always stop but sometimes the intensity we feel in our minds is matched when we try to get into our bodies so know that it may just be that initial feeling for you.
See if it's already started to soften,
If you're already starting to feel yourself come back into your body.
Keep rubbing your hands together.
Notice if there's any warmth or tingling sensation,
Any electricity in your palms,
In your hands.
Take a deep breath and on the exhale bring your hands anywhere on your body.
Just trust the first place they go and hold them there firmly.
Bring your focus to the breath.
Feel every fingertip one by one and its placement on your body.
Maybe you say to yourself,
I am here.
As in,
I am here in this moment or I am here in this life or I am here in this practice.
Feel how those words sit with you.
Maybe you say something like,
I am an active participant in my life.
I have autonomy.
I have choice.
I have permission.
Feel yourself starting to break free of the stimulation,
The noise,
The distractions.
Go ahead and release your hands to your lap.
Your knees.
However feels comfortable for you.
Take a couple more breaths and notice anywhere in your body that still feels like it's moving quite fast.
Maybe some parts of you are starting to slow down but maybe some parts of you are still churning.
For me,
It's usually around the top of my head or the back of my head or behind my eyes and just notice them.
Acknowledge that not everything can slow down all at once,
All together,
All at the same speed.
Let there be some humor in that.
We expect that sometimes.
Have some appreciation for this diverse ecosystem within you.
Everything operating on its own time and agenda.
Maybe you feel some softening coming to your face.
Or your jaw.
Maybe you ask your intuition,
Your spirit team,
Any energies that you work with,
Even if that's just the energy of intention.
Ask for more of this,
More of this softening,
More of this presence,
More of this momentum into what is good for you,
What is supportive.
Don't be afraid to say exactly what you want.
I want more of this.
I want more moments of quiet.
I want more time to make a choice.
I want more time to explore my inner world.
Maybe there's something here for you today.
Notice if those places have slowed down a bit,
Even in just the last minute.
And to close it out,
Maybe bring your hands anywhere that still feels like it's going quite fast.
So I'm going to bring my hands to the crown of my head.
And just feel that touch and sensation of being held,
Of meeting my own hands.
Feel yourself meeting your own touch.
And as you're ready,
Start to come out of the practice.
You did such a beautiful job.
Thank you so much for practicing with me today.
