Welcome to the last week of Advent.
This is a beautiful season of hope,
Peace,
Joy,
And love.
Our theme today is love,
The last Sunday before Christmas.
This is a reminder not to listen if you are driving or focusing on another task.
Bookmark and save this for later when you would like to find a meditation for this Advent season on love.
I'm Joy and I am your guide for this meditation.
And as we get started,
Find a comfortable position,
A place where you can find quiet and rest.
A place that is comfortable and brings you peace.
Make a few movements before we settle in to allow the body to naturally settle just a little more.
As the body finds its place of rest,
Let the breath grow bigger.
The body lifts on the inhale,
Opening,
And lowers on the exhale,
Becoming heavy and soft.
Take a moment to focus on the length of each inhale and each exhale.
Find that comfortable breath and allow the body to lift and lower.
Feel the ebb and flow.
As you continue the breath,
Become aware of the body stretching and releasing.
And as we turn that gaze inward,
I invite you to feel the muscles become heavy.
Your hips release tension.
And maybe you find your feet,
Your knees,
Or your thighs relax and roll out to the side.
Your shoulders soften from your ears.
And your jaw relaxes as your tongue rests loosely on the floor of your mouth.
As you slow down,
As you find a little deeper rest,
Visualize an aura around your body.
A deep indigo blue that surrounds your body with warmth and tranquility.
It envelops your body.
It deepens the spiritual connection.
It fills your heart and soul as your thoughts turn to kindness and love this Christmas season.
Christmas is a time to focus on God's love.
His agape.
His divine.
Love is not a thing.
It is not a concept that you can observe.
Love is more than that.
Love is all-encompassing.
It is transformational.
It is powerful.
Love is so much more than just an idea.
Love is God.
As humans,
We're capable of acting in a loving way.
But only God is true,
Unconditional,
Pure.
And during Christmas,
With the birth of the Messiah,
God came to earth.
Heaven came down and glory filled my soul.
Turn to the breath.
Feel the air as it fills your lungs.
And as you exhale,
Allow that natural cycle to occur.
Return to the indigo blue,
That spiritual color of God's love.
Allow the aura to continue to surround you and flow through you with each inhale and exhale.
Truly,
He taught us to love one another.
His law is love and his gospel is peace.
As you focus on the beauty and light his love brings,
Begin to focus on each exhale,
Sending that light and love out into your family.
As you exhale,
Send the light and love out into your community.
And as you exhale,
Send the divine love,
That perfect love,
Out into the world.
Feel his presence as it flows through you.
The love that God gives is everlasting and unconditional.
It replenishes continuously,
Filling that aura around you and takes a place in your heart.
Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust him.
Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong.
And may you have the power to understand,
As all God's people should,
How wide,
How long,
How high,
And how deep his love is.
May you experience the love of Christ,
Though it is too great to understand fully.
Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
As we reflect on that verse from Ephesians,
Breathe in,
Filling the lungs,
Filling the heart,
Filling the soul,
And gently allow the breath to release.
As you take time to reflect,
Savor the connection to the Lord God,
To the Creator,
To the Savior who was born this Christmas season.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you that you are love,
That you show us how to love.
Thank you that I am your child,
Given this endless supply of your love.
Thank you that love comes from you,
And help me reflect on your perfect love and allow it to flow to those around me.
Amen.
As we close our practice,
Continue to rest in this indigo blue light that surrounds you,
Taking the reminder into your day to pass along to others.
Begin to become aware of the deep breath,
Your thoughts,
And your body,
Bringing that awareness to the external parts of your body.
Begin making small movements,
Maybe starting with fingers and toes,
Perhaps moving your head from side to side,
Rolling your shoulders down and away from your ears,
Creating length,
Lifting your heart with one last deep breath.
And as you exhale,
Slowly opening your eyes and returning to your beautiful day.
I wish you heavenly peace and abundant blessings for a merry,
Merry Christmas.
