Welcome,
Beautiful soul.
Thank you for joining me today for meditation practice.
My name is Joy,
And I'll be guiding us into a deeper connection with God,
Our creator,
And our Heavenly Father.
Find a quiet space.
Let's take a moment to get settled.
Whether you prefer a seated or lying position,
Allow the body time to become comfortable.
Relaxing shoulders,
Relaxing the belly,
Allowing the hips to become heavy,
And allowing the legs to become light.
And breathe.
Drop into the space,
Gently closing your eyes.
Let go of fears and worries and distractions.
Feel the firmness beneath you.
Notice the feel of the air around you.
Acknowledge any external activity around you,
And let it fall away.
Spread your awareness even wider to take in the presence and sensations in the room and beyond.
Allow any outside distractions to be accepted as part of the experience,
And then allow them to fade,
Drifting further and further.
Slow the breath.
Notice the cycle of the inhale and exhale.
As we focus more on the movement of the breath,
Begin to lengthen the exhale,
Pressing out completely,
Letting go,
And relaxing the shoulders more,
Deepening the body's response with each release of breath.
As the body and breath are at ease,
The mind also slows and begins to shift into a state of relaxation.
An opportunity to alleviate any hurt or anger,
To allay any worries or fears,
And to assuage any doubts or limiting beliefs.
Though thoughts may still,
They will not cease.
At any time you feel the chatter in your mind begin to grow,
Return to the focus of the breath.
Return to the inhale and the exhale to find the routine to calm and to soothe.
As we begin to go deeper,
Releasing even more attention,
We take a few moments to open our body,
Our mind,
And our soul so that it can be filled with the presence of God,
Filled with the Holy Spirit.
My heart says of you,
Seek His face.
Your face,
Lord,
I will seek.
Psalm 27,
Verse 8.
Allow His love and peace to infuse you fully as you seek Him more.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
James 4,
Verse 8.
Continue the steady breath,
Breathing in His goodness,
Breathing in His wisdom,
And breathing in His love.
You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29,
Verse 13.
So open your heart and search,
Seeking closeness and connection.
Open the mind and heart to listen to God's voice.
Let go.
Be quiet.
Listen and feel.
Be still and know that I am God.
Psalm 46,
Verse 10.
As children of God,
We are designed in His image and He desires a true relationship with us.
He desires a true connection with His creation.
Approach the throne with a heart that is true and sincere,
Wholly dedicated to God alone.
David prayed in Psalm 51,
Verse 6.
Behold,
You desire truth in the innermost being.
Approach the throne with confident faith,
With full assurance in Him.
Hebrews 11,
Verse 6.
Without faith,
It is impossible to please Him.
For He who comes to God must believe that God is and that God is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
As we pray,
Dear Heavenly Father,
You are the God of all.
You are the Creator and Sovereign.
But you are also our good,
Good Father.
One who loves us and cares for us,
Desiring a connection with each of us,
Your children.
As we deepen our prayer and meditation,
As we read your Word,
And as we humble ourselves thinking more of others' needs,
We learn more of you.
We learn to trust you even when we don't understand or know the plan you have for us.
We choose faith in you.
As Hebrews 4,
Verse 16 says,
Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace,
That we may receive mercy,
May find grace in time of need.
Heavenly Father,
Let us experience your love and peace and joy.
Let us find clarity and alignment and wisdom.
Let us become strengthened and blessed in your presence.
Let us draw near to you so you will draw near to us.
Lord,
May you never leave us.
In Jesus' beautiful name,
Amen.
