Peace provides us with a calm to weather any storm. It allows our body, mind, and spirit to find serenity in difficult times. Learning how to find and create peace is found by slowing down and connecting with the light that illuminates our soul and finding the perfect peace and harmony in God. In this meditation, we bring the light in and allow it to bring the peace we are so often searching for. During this Advent, learn to focus on peace within and the spiritual connection it brings.

Welcome to this Advent meditation on peace.

I encourage you to use this through the Christmas season and whenever you need to find a bit of calm or lightness.

As this is a relaxation meditation,

Please do not participate if you are driving or need to be fully awake and alert.

Please save for later when you are able to relax fully.

So let's begin.

As you find a comfortable position,

Whether you're seated or lying down,

Take a moment to get settled.

Gently close your eyes or find a soft gaze.

Take a moment to check in with your body.

Notice the breath,

The inhale and the exhale.

Notice the hips and legs.

Allow them to soften and become heavy.

Notice the belly as you breathe.

Notice the chest,

The rise and fall with each inhale and exhale.

Notice the back,

The neck and the shoulders as you allow the tension to release.

Allow the tightness to flow from the body.

Soften the muscles in your face,

The jaw,

The cheeks,

The eyes and the forehead.

Relax.

Take a moment to check in with your mind.

Watch your thoughts from a distance as if you are watching a movie.

Is it fast-paced,

Energetic or is it gentle and calm?

Breathe deeper and release as you exhale.

Notice if you can slow the speed of your thoughts,

Slow the movie in your mind that you're watching and notice if you can quiet the volume.

Take a moment to check in with your spirit as your body has softened and your mind has slowed.

Notice how your heart feels.

Notice if there are feelings of safety and grounding.

Notice if you feel at peace and breathe.

Our Advent practice on peace allows us to focus on cultivating that calmness within our body,

Mind and spirit.

This peace is not peace from ourselves but it is tapping into that peace from God.

Breathe in the peace and serenity that surpasses all understanding.

Surrender the negative thoughts and embrace the stillness.

Embrace the peace that calms the storm that connects deep within.

Embrace the peace that no matter the circumstance you allow the conflict to pass you by.

Embrace that no matter the uncertainty or unrest that you connect with that inner part of you that embraces the tranquility.

As we connect more deeply we let go of the distracting thoughts and tense muscles and bring our body,

Mind and spirit into perfect harmony,

Into the space of peace.

Breathe.

Allow the breath to flow in and gently release and flow out.

Even in times of difficulty,

Peace is present.

As we continue we visualize a white light,

An orb that hovers above us as a glowing iridescent pearl.

A beautiful ethereal light of pure peace and calm.

As we watch the orb,

As we watch the pearl,

It begins to dissolve and the parts,

The flecks,

The beautiful iridescent particles begin to float towards you.

And as you inhale the white light that has dissolved becomes part of the breath you take in.

It is a fine mist that begins to flow through your body.

It begins to fill your lungs and your belly.

It flows to your hands and your feet.

It fills your mind and your heart.

As you continue to breathe in,

You feel the peaceful thoughts.

You feel the peace throughout your body and you connect with the life and the light giver to connect with his perfect peace.

Take a moment to feel his presence as you feel that wash of peace and calm and serenity flow through your body,

Through your mind and through your spirit without interruption.

Continuing to fill every part of you and bring you that peace and calm that you are in need of.

At this advent season we remember the angels spoke peace and blessing to the shepherds in the field to calm their fears.

In this season may the Prince of Peace speak to you so that you can let go of your fears,

Your brokenness,

Your pain and find the pure and perfect peace everlasting.

As we bring our practice to a close,

Take notice of the lightness in your body,

The stillness of your thoughts and the peace you feel throughout.

As we begin to transition back into our day,

We become more aware of the external world around us,

Taking with us that peace,

That stillness,

The quietness in our spirit.

As we transition back into our everyday,

As we begin to slowly find movement in our fingers and toes,

As we take those gentle movements,

Moving your head from side to side,

Moving your neck,

Rolling your shoulders,

And continuing to take in that deep breath into the belly,

We begin to awaken and return to our and return to our daily activity.

But with us we take the peace and calm back into our day,

Into our lives.

I wish you peace and blessings this advent season.
