Greetings fellow traveller.
For this meditation,
We're going to take a time out in the woods.
And get a sense for what trees and the breeze can teach us about being still and mindful as we focus on the breath.
This is an invite to you to get comfortable the best way for you.
Whether you want to lay down or sit in a chair or sit on the floor,
Totally up to you.
Just find what works best for you.
Whatever is going to help you be comfortable.
And however you find yourself in contact with the earth,
Allow yourself to relax into that position.
Feel credited put your roots down as it were.
Feel how supported you are.
Gravity and the ground,
Your seat,
Your perch.
Keeping you safe so you can hopefully enjoy this opportunity.
To come home to the body and the earth.
So,
If it feels good for you.
Just let your eyes flutter close.
And in your own time.
In your own way.
Take 3.
Breath.
All the way in.
And all the way out.
And when you've done that.
.
.
Just relax into your own body.
Easy Rhythm.
Like that gentle summer breeze teasing the tops of the trees and setting them into a gentle sway Let your own breath.
Play this way.
You may notice.
The noise of the trees and the birds or maybe something else out there.
It is fine.
Just be like a tree in your stillness.
Whatever else is going on.
No consequence or worry to you right now.
Not part of your experience.
Just as it wouldn't bother the trees outside.
If you start drifting anywhere but here,
Do not worry.
Take your focus to your breath.
Hmph.
And your rooted sense of comfort.
Just be.
It's okay.
Thoughts jump into your head.
And the light into your perception.
Landing like little birds in the boughs and branches of a tree.
They're always going to be there at one point or another,
Tweeting or singing or crowing.
That's fine.
Where else do birds or thoughts end up?
You don't have to chase them away.
Just realise you do not have to fly away with them.
Just be still.
No need to sing back.
And if you find yourself doing just that.
Just bring your focus back to the breath.
That cradled feeling.
Of your position.
Down into that.
I think.
Of each breath.
Like the breeze.
Rustling.
The leaves.
There is no goal here.
Look at that.
Just breathe.
Just.
To be still.
There is no one scoring you for this.
You don't need to score yourself.
Or judge.
Whole thing.
Of any other result.
In the breath.
Whatever you are experiencing right now.
Is fine.
For the level you are at.
And there is no.
Wasted.
Meditation.
Every breath.
And every moment.
Is like the wind.
The exercises.
The tree branches.
It's Trump.
Making it stronger.
And more hearty.
Side.
There is no.
To rush.
Tree is done.
Growth upwards.
And depth downwards.
Comes with every day.
Spend.
Coming.
Like sunshine.
And rain.
Over season after.
See you soon.
Breathing.
Is the first.
And last act of life.
And everything between that.
Are respirated.
Conversation.
With the rest of the world.
Every tree.
Every plant.
Your breath.
Connects you.
To them.
You breathe out.
You give carbon dioxide for the tree.
You breathe in.
The tree.
Gives you oxygen.
You both.
Breathe.
Which is an amazing example of harmony.
With nature.
And being nourished.
By our elders.
We may not get to slow down and appreciate.
In everyday life.
Now.
That you have settled.
And you are well rooted.
In this moment.
I'm gonna give you a little extra space.
And step back.
For a couple of minutes.
The mind wanders.
Just return to the breath and you're rooted.
Sense.
Of comfort.
I'll be back to collect you soon.
23.
I hope you enjoyed that.
We are going to take one more little moment of peace.
Underneath the trees right now with a poem I wrote.
It's called bark and wood.
In recent years,
I've thrown my branches out towards the sun.
Reaching out for rays ever skyward.
Obsessed with growth,
The light attaining heights.
Feeling feathery.
Forgetting.
And bark and wood.
Forgetting the ground in which I'm stood.
Until now.
Reacquaint myself with roots.
Nourishing me like food.
Deepening.
Drinking it all in.
And here you get a sat-plane.
Swaying.
In this piece.
Just where I am.
Hand on that note.
We're just going to bring some gentle movement back to your body.
Have a little fidget.
Have a wriggle of those fingers and toes.
And slowly,
When you're ready.
Just open your eyes.
And bring yourself back to exactly where you are.
I would like to thank you for joining me to meditate today.
I am truly honoured that you have chosen to spend this time with me.
So,
Until next time,
Take care.
And bye for now.
