Hello and welcome to this meditation for peaceful sleep.

I'm Jocelyn John from Sleep is Health.

Get into a comfortable position that allows you to support your spine.

Once you are ready and comfortable,

Close your eyes and let's begin with a deep cleansing breath.

Breathing in and out.

Give yourself permission to be here.

Our lives are so fast paced,

Sometimes slowing down can feel strange at first.

Despite any challenges that you are currently facing in your life,

You are here right now with an intention to relax and promote sleep so that you can feel and do better.

When you imagine how you want to feel when you wake up tomorrow morning,

What kinds of affirmations come to mind?

When I wake up in the morning I want to feel refreshed,

Calm,

Happy,

Creative,

Focused,

Beautiful,

Centred,

Excited,

Amazing,

Connected,

Healthy,

Productive,

Loved,

Decisive,

Prolific,

Vitalized and exuberant.

Now your turn.

Take a moment to picture how you want to feel when you wake up in the morning.

When you are sleeping,

There are many wonderful things that happen to boost your immune system in order to protect you from catching colds and flu and to lower your risk for cancer,

To boost your energy and to enhance your memory and make you creative and productive,

To help you prevent dementia,

Heart attack and stroke,

To lower your food cravings and help you maintain a healthy weight and to lower your risk for diabetes,

To keep you glowing and help you live longer.

You will even be happier,

Less depressed,

Less anxious and have better ability to cope with stress as sleep restores your ultimate balance.

So this is your moment.

Allow yourself this gift of rest and rejuvenation.

You may start to notice worrying thoughts.

Maybe you have negative thoughts about your sleep.

The goal of meditation is to stay present and observe our thoughts just as they are without any judgement.

There's no need to fight our thoughts.

Just like observing clouds in the sky,

We can't change the direction of the cloud but we can just stay centered and observe the clouds as they pass by.

So when the thoughts come into your head,

It's just another cloud,

It's just another thought.

Take a deep breath in and out.

It's ok even though you might not know how things will turn out in the future.

The peace of mind is not in the knowing exactly what will happen but the feeling that you will be ok in the end as long as you are accountable and doing your best every day.

Right now,

In this moment,

You have nothing to worry about.

You are at peace.

Continue to focus on breathing.

Look back on everything that you have experienced today.

What are you grateful for?

Bring into your mind 5 things you are glad happened today.

It doesn't have to be big things.

Just take note of any experiences that have brought you joy,

Opportunity for growth and learning.

If nothing came up for you,

You can start by being grateful for your commitment to better sleep and optimal health.

The fact that you are breathing,

You can also bring into your awareness the amazing,

Loving and supportive people and animals in your life.

Take a moment to appreciate the positive impact of those fruitful connections and relationships.

You can feel your body relaxing,

Breathing steady and as your body continues to relax,

You can feel the calm peace that emerges with gratitude and observing and letting go of your thoughts like clouds in the sky.

As you begin to drift down into a deeper relaxation,

You can know that all is well.

Your body works hard to keep you going.

You can congratulate yourself for supporting your body cells to do their best work to keep you balanced.

And as you drift deeper down into this wonderful feeling of relaxation,

You can really feel that all is well.

As I end this meditation,
