We are going to bring to mind the image.
The still surface of the lake.
You might envision yourself.
Sitting.
On a boat in the lake.
Maybe on the shore.
Just bring.
An image into your mind.
Of where you are near the lake.
And as you look out onto the lake.
Let's see the still water.
Notice how the sun.
Sparkles off of the gentle waves.
Look out.
Seeing nothing but where the water touches the horizon.
Notice what you hear.
Very gentle.
Trickle of water.
As it drifts and waves all around you.
Very gently,
Not tumultuous.
Glassy,
Gentle,
Flowing.
Of a lake around you.
Continuing to notice in this moment what you see.
Any of the sounds you hear.
And when you inevitably notice.
Thoughts going through your mind.
We all do.
It's part of being human.
Imagine taking that thought.
And giving it to the lake.
Whether you throw it in.
To get that nice sensation of chucking it away.
Or maybe you just lay it down gently into the water and watch it float away.
All the while.
Breathing in that crisp,
Light air.
Noticing the sights,
Sounds,
Smells around you.
And any thoughts that come up.
Any sensations even.
Of tension.
Tightness.
Pinching pain.
Giving it to the lake.
If there have been any thoughts that have been particularly sticky.
Today.
Maybe you notice that there's something you do have to take care of later,
Tomorrow,
Next week,
But there's nothing really to be done about it now.
That's something for this evening at least.
To give to the lake.
Return to it another time.
Pick it back up tomorrow morning.
But here,
No.
In this moment that you've carved out for yourself.
Where there is nothing to do.
No more doing.
Just being.
Those things.
Coming to your mind that need done.
You don't need them now.
They'll be there.
When you decide to come back to them.
Right now is just a time for being.
Time for slowing down.
Sinking into yourself.
Being here with the water.
Letting it hold you.
Letting it hold and recycle.
Any of these thoughts and sensations.
That you don't need right here,
Right now,
In this moment.
Let's take another moment just to be.
And reconnect with those sensations that you're noticing.
Being on the lake.
The light.
The clouds.
The surface of the water.
The sounds of the water.
The deep sigh that comes from you.
When you're able to just be and let go.
Stay here at the lake as long as you'd like.
Knowing.
That when you go,
You can always come back.
If you only have a short time to practice this.
Guided meditation.
That's okay.
Sit with the leg for longer.
Or just take a quick trip.
Let the water hold.
What you can let go.
To feel at ease,
To slow down.
To just be.
