Let's begin today's meditation by taking a nice deep breath through our abdomens,

Reaching deep and filling up the space with air.

At the top of the breath,

Hold it there for a few seconds and release the air slowly but forcefully through your mouth.

At the bottom of your breath,

Take another deep breath through your sacral,

Filling your abdomen with air,

Pausing at the top and releasing the air forcefully through your mouth.

And let's take one more deep breath.

Hold it and release.

Now let's return to normal breathing.

I now want you to connect with the Earth's energy by grounding this meditation to the Earth and feeling a sense of oneness with the world around us.

Begin for a moment coming from your legs,

Through your feet and into the ground.

Big,

Strong roots.

Roots that are strong as the largest tree in the world.

I want you to think of the roots going deep into the Earth,

Farther and farther down.

So far down that there is nothing that can release its grip.

This form of grounding gives you security,

Fulfills the basic need of safety.

Is there a place,

A space that you think of as your very own?

Think of all the things that you have categorized as your own.

Maybe it's where you came from,

Where you currently live.

Maybe it's your origin,

Your culture,

Your ethnicity.

Or maybe the most important categorization is where you feel most at home.

As you think of all those places,

Take the thoughts that are clouding the picture and place them in a box.

The worries of today,

The list of things you need to finish,

Your children's concerns,

Your partner's concerns,

Place all of them in a box and close the lid for just a moment.

Now imagine yourself taking the box and placing it in the back of your head and leaving it there for now.

They are still a real part of you,

But now they are sealed away for the moment.

As you place the box in the back of your head,

Imagine the top of your head opening,

Wider,

And even wider still,

So that your head is exposed to the world.

Now imagine a white river of light entering into your head and filling your body with source energy.

Flowing through the crown of your head,

The spiritual connection passing through your third eye,

Your intuition,

Filling your throat,

A feeling of openness and creativity and communication.

Feel the river of light flow through your shoulders and down your arms into your hands.

Imagine that light hugging your heart,

Giving you balance,

Love,

Connection,

Compassion.

Imagine the light entering your solar plexus,

Your stomach.

This is where self-control,

Purpose,

Desire,

Willpower,

Instinct is found.

Really feel the light taking over your body as it passes through your sacral where relationships and emotions and intimacy are found.

This is your abdomen,

Your gut.

Now imagine the light flowing through your root where you feel secure and safe.

This is your pelvis,

Your reproductive system,

Your tailbone,

Your legs,

Your feet.

Sit with this for a moment and feel the light throughout your body as it bathes you with compassion and hugs you from the inside.

Feel the rhythm of your breath coming in and going out,

Inhaling and exhaling.

What is the significance of MyPlace?

It's a place that helps frame us,

Define us,

And contributes to who we are.

You might feel at home in this place,

Even when you're not there.

It's like a beacon calling out to you.

The desire for MyPlace is a different thing altogether or a combination of everything.

Many of us have special places that answer a deeper and more powerful emotional need in us than the need for somewhere to live.

MyPlace is the physical symbol of my emotional comfort zone.

It's a place where you feel most at home and might be sitting under a tree on a rocky hill.

You don't own it or anything.

It's not in the bush,

But it's become your favorite place.

That's where you do all your thinking.

No one knows anything about it.

It's yours and it's perfect.

Now I want you to go to that special place and sit there for a few moments.

Can you picture it?

What does it look like?

Feel yourself there.

Put yourself there.

Do you smell it?

Does it feel warm to the touch?

Is it cool to the touch?

Take a moment and thank the universe for giving you a place that you can call yours.

The next time you find that you need a short mini vacation,

Close your eyes and sit calmly and think of your place.

It's not just a desire.

It's a reality.

It's the place where you can connect with the world around you.

It's my place.

Now let's change the focus back to the river of white light and follow it back to your crown,

The top of your head,

Where love and compassion live.

Take a moment to reflect on what compassion means for you.

Maybe you need to go to your place,

But compassion is a spiritual connection.

It's peace,

Thoughtful harmony,

And it's focused.

Now with compassion in mind,

Reach back to the box and open it and allow what you placed in it to live with you in compassion,

Limiting its power.

When you are ready,

Feel your body reawakening.

Feel the source running through your feet and up your legs,

Passing your knees and your thighs.

Feel your lower back coming to life,

Your hips,

Your gut.

Feel the source reawakening your stomach,

Your spine,

Your heart,

Your throat,

Your hands,

Your arms,

Your neck and face,

Your head,

The crown.

Feel your body reawakening.

Listen to the sounds around you through your ears.

Feel the air around touching your skin,

And when you are ready,

Open your eyes and welcome back.

Sit for a moment before you continue your day and just enjoy the moment of quiet before you stand up.

I hope you have a lovely day living in balance for compassion.
