Hello and welcome to this collection of some of my prayers that I've composed to help us with our meditation and for peaceful living.

Prayer and meditation have been in my life for as long as I can remember.

I think for that reason I am blessed to have experienced the profound effect that both prayer and meditation have had on my life.

I have selected now a range of prayers for you,

Each composed with an intention in mind as you'll see.

They are not conventional prayers as such,

I rather refer to them as simply talking to God in the language of your heart and soul.

We can pray for little everyday needs,

For people or for hugely important challenges that we're called to face at times.

We can also pray in thanksgiving and gratitude for blessings that come to us.

Sincere prayer can help us through difficult times without dissolving into despair or crumbling in a heap.

Even if there is despair or feelings of giving up,

It is important that you try to realise these feelings will pass and instead be kind and loving to yourself and perhaps pray even more deeply.

All prayers are a way of reaching out for help or for gratitude.

Always come to prayer with an attitude of trust and faith.

This attitude builds over time.

We're so used to praying with an attitude of fear and despair or even worse,

Unworthiness.

So it is always worth remembering that our prayers are offered to a truly loving God.

When praying,

Trust and believe that you are building a relationship with the Divine,

The Creator of this universe.

People often refer to trusting in the universe or asking the universe.

If you like,

A profound energy that is greater than us.

I call that energy the vibration of love.

You may pray for an intention through the intercession of a great saint or guru.

It could be Jesus or the Divine Mother or whoever or whatever form you feel rests lovingly in your heart.

Over time,

As we take time to find stillness within,

We come to understand that we are profoundly loved and answers to our prayers come,

Not always as we want,

But they are answered in the ways that are right for us,

For our highest good.

Answers can come in the most unexpected ways.

Meditation and prayer go hand in hand.

When we take the time to withdraw from activity,

It is important to relax the body and the nervous system.

This we can do with a certain technique or techniques like breath awareness or tensing and relaxing body parts.

These work very well.

A gentle yoga practice will also help.

Sometimes it can take longer than others to reach a point where the body and mind are relaxed and still.

It is essential that you be patient.

It does take at first a certain amount of willpower and discipline to establish a regular practice,

But once you have,

It is just as much part of your life as taking a daily shower.

Always start your quiet meditative time with a prayer,

Simply calling on a higher power to protect you and guide you.

Your prayer is very personal and individual.

Again come from your heart.

Come from a calm and quiet heart.

This is why your preparation is most important.

Your preparation leads you towards meditation.

Then in the stillness of meditation,

The magic happens.

We become aware of a part of ourselves that has perhaps been somewhat buried beneath all the trials and tribulations of life that have taken over our consciousness and caused us to identify with the physical body and the material world,

Rather than with who we really are.

It may sound strange to believe at first,

But at our essence,

We are perfect.

We are whole and complete.

We have everything that we need.

All the knowledge,

All the love,

All the wisdom.

All we have to do is improve our knowing.

Our very nature,

Our soul nature,

Is that of calmness,

Loving-kindness and peace.

Whatever follows in the stillness of your meditation is your own personal experience.

It is in prayer and meditation that you are able to listen to your higher self.

It is not a space of nothingness or daydreaming.

In fact,

It is a space where you are quite alert and aware of the sublime peace and the presence of love.

Now I suggest you sit comfortably or lie down if you like,

Eyes lightly closed.

Sit on the floor with the back upright,

Supported if necessary.

Let go of any rigidity and make sure you are feeling relaxed and settled and spend a minute or two with breath awareness.

So if you're going to do that now,

Just take a few moments to breathe and feel your body relaxing with each and every out-breath.

Continue to breathe just like that.

As we travel through life,

There are many occasions when we are in need of protection,

When the mind is so restless and we easily fall into the grip of negativity and doubt.

In those moments,

Reach out to the Heavenly Father,

Pray with the desire to go beyond thoughts of negativity and to see a positive way ahead.

So I begin now to give you some of my prayers and this first one is a prayer for protection and rising beyond negativity and doubt.

Feeling calm and present now.

Heavenly Father,

I ask for your protection.

Please be with me all the days of this journey through life.

With your guidance and my growing receptivity to that guidance,

I know I am safe.

In this body,

With this restless mind,

I am subject to much negativity.

I know I am blessed with choice and free will to overcome all obstacles.

I pray that I always hear your loving words that guide me and that I feel them in my heart.

This is what strengthens me and holds my faith.

Protect me from the influences of doubt and negativity.

And may I see clearly your divine plan and feel your unfailing love.

The love that gives me wings of power.

Thank you.

Amen.

Feel inner peace now with the affirmation,

The Heavenly Father is with me.

I am protected.

And we continue with this prayer now.

Your love and light is with me now.

May my heart be full of joy and feel that you are present in all that I do.

I can relax and let go of anxiety,

Fear and doubt.

I know you are with me in every breath I take.

May stillness come to me now to be the perfect reminder of your divine presence in my life.

Bless me.

Amen.

Now I know that sometimes it can be difficult to pray.

It may be difficult to find the words to express your deepest need.

You may even have thoughts of doubt.

These thoughts limit us in so many ways.

Make sure that you relax,

That you breathe and consciously let go of tension.

If there is any worry or challenge that you may be facing,

Your body and nervous system unconsciously hold on to tightness,

Fear and resistance.

So you can affirm,

I am relaxed and calm.

I release all tension and feel the evenness of breath,

Thus evenness of mind.

Say this prayer now,

Feeling the love of God is within and around you.

Pray quietly with a genuine sense of patience and trust.

Be open to where it takes you.

Heavenly Father,

Help me to pray.

Teach me to pray.

Teach me to listen.

May I find my inner silence and peace so that I feel your divine presence and hear your silent words.

May I sink deeply into the silence within myself where I may feel your presence and love.

I know I do not have to speak or ask for anything as you know what is right for me.

Reveal thyself within myself.

This is my prayer.

Thank you.

Amen.

We all have within each one of us infinite potential to achieve whatever our hearts desire.

We need to be awakened.

We need to awaken our creative power.

It can be so blocked at times that we can even convince ourselves that it doesn't even exist.

So this prayer now is to help us release those blocks and to trust in the flow of God's creative power to be expressed in whatever we do.

Heavenly Father,

I know that your creative power is within me and I ask that you bless me now.

I know that I can trust you and I pray that my mind be calm so as to clearly receive your inspiration.

Help me to let go of all doubt and insecurity and allow your creative power to awaken my infinite potential.

I believe in your guidance and I thank you for the gifts that you bring to me as I become more and more receptive.

With a peaceful mind I rest in stillness now.

I ask for your guidance and inspiration to express my creative power in all that I do.

Thank you.

Amen.

Remember that inspiration for whatever you do or want to achieve comes when we are calm.

It is the perfect environment for inspiration to flow.

With clarity of mind,

Everything that we do will be easier.

Of course there are times in our busy lives that we do not have clarity.

It is important to notice when this occurs.

If you meditate regularly you will find that you become more sensitive to picking up on those times.

Then you can pause,

Take some time out,

Breathe,

Relax and begin again.

That expression,

Begin again,

Is so important to remember.

We can always begin again.

So this is a prayer you may use at those times.

Divine Mother,

Clear my mind so all that I hear is your gentle voice of wisdom and love.

Without a clear mind I am entangled in negativity,

Doubt and restlessness.

This does not serve my highest good.

I am only to feel your presence in my heart and I am no longer caught up in my restless mind.

As I breathe I feel quietness settling in my being.

As I breathe I am in the presence of your Divine love.

May clarity and peace come to me through your Divine grace.

Be my beacon of light and may I grow in faith.

Thank you.

Amen.

To give thanks,

No matter what it is,

Is what gives us peace and strengthens our faith.

We must never forget to give thanks.

In fact we can give thanks in advance,

Which demonstrates our faith and trusts that all is well.

So this prayer is for thanksgiving and surrender.

Divine Mother,

From my heart I pray.

I am filled with thankfulness and love.

Thank you for this precious life.

I have obstacles to overcome,

I know,

But there are also many opportunities and blessings.

I know I can take refuge in you and realize your Divine presence in me.

Guide my every move,

My every thought.

May your Divine grace heal me of all ignorance and protect me always.

Of my own self I can do nothing,

But with you all things are possible.

Divine Mother,

I am in your hands.

Help me to surrender fully,

For I realize then that all is well.

Thank you.

Amen.

The ability to surrender is very much a part of building faith and trust as is acceptance.

At times it can be difficult to accept situations that come our way.

So when you pray for acceptance,

Take a few minutes to feel stillness and quietness in your heart.

Again,

Breathe evenly and calmly and let your whole being settle into the stillness and quietness.

Even under circumstances when acceptance is required,

It is in the heart that we feel heaviness,

Sadness,

Frustration,

Anger,

Loneliness or fear.

Allow your spirits to rise beyond the restless thoughts and frustrations or other emotions you may be feeling.

Pray with the knowledge that fundamentally all is well and that you are loved and protected.

So this is a prayer for acceptance.

I do not have to change anything.

Everything is as it should be.

I know you are there to love me and to give me strength.

Let me not be the judge,

But put my faith in you.

To know this and to accept this is what will set me free.

There need never be disappointment because my faith is strong and that faith makes me strong.

I ask for your precious words of wisdom to guide me and to help me.

Help me to accept what is.

There is much to understand.

May I realize your unfailing love and be ever receptive to your guiding light.

Thank you.

Amen.

It is especially good to keep the flame of love and light burning within.

Feel the joy of stillness and it will always be present in your heart.

It will be a place of refuge,

A place to enter and to feel the stillness,

While at the same time allowing you to face whatever the world has challenged you with.

So we end now with a prayer about feeling the joy of stillness within.

Divine Mother,

I come to you now with peace and love in my heart.

Feeling stillness,

Such inner stillness,

Even if only for brief moments,

I know that you are there.

If I was to ask who are you,

What are you,

The answer would be none other than this sublime peace,

Warmth and love that I feel within me now.

It need never go away for I hold you in my heart.

Amen.

So I leave you now and encourage you to perhaps revisit these prayers and of course to find the words,

Your words,

To talk to God in your own way,

In the language of your heart and your soul.

With love and many blessings to you now.

Thank you for listening.
