This meditation is intended to do while you are walking,
Preferably outside,
But if that isn't possible,
A treadmill will work as well.
During this meditation,
We will tune into ourselves and the sights around us while becoming more aware,
Mindful,
Balanced and present.
When this guided meditation is over,
I encourage you to continue your mindfulness for the duration of your walk.
To begin,
Notice first your breath and take a moment to connect with it.
Is it feeling shallow or rushed and hurried?
Or is it slow and steady?
Now take a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and exhale fully out.
Do this again.
Inhale fully and exhale completely.
Do this a few more times.
Slowly inhale and exhale.
Bring your attention now to your feet.
How do they feel?
How are they feeling inside of your shoes or sandals?
Are your shoes comfortable?
Are they tight or loose?
Are your feet warm inside of those shoes?
Feel your toes pressing into your shoes.
Firmly plant each foot into the ground,
Each one as they touch the earth.
Feel them as though they are kissing the earth with each step.
Feel the ground beneath them and how supporting this ground is to your feet and body.
Try to feel a connection to the earth as you take each step and feel the gratitude.
Feel the strength of your legs as they carry you along.
Look at the sights around you and notice the colors,
Perhaps trees,
Perhaps people or pets.
Try to find one thing new that you haven't noticed before.
Now take another long deep breath in,
Holding for a brief moment and exhale completely.
Pay attention to the pace in which you are walking.
Notice any smells.
Feel the temperature of the air on your nose,
On your cheeks.
Is there a breeze in the air?
Bring attention back to your breath again and take another full deep inhalation,
Filling your lungs with this rich,
Delicious outside air and exhale completely.
Feel this gratitude welling up inside of you for the blessings that are all around and for the marvel of your life and for the marvel that you are.
Continue to be mindful and aware throughout the remainder of your walk and throughout the remainder of your day,
Your beautiful day.
Namaste.
