This meditation is meant to be done lying down,

So get yourself into a comfortable position.

Begin by letting your entire body settle backwards.

Let go of any unconscious muscular tension that you're holding on to.

Just feel all of your muscles melting off of your bones.

Let the back of your head rest gently on the earth.

Imagine all of the thoughts from your mind draining backwards down through the back of your head until your mind becomes still.

Let your eyes settle back in their sockets.

And feel the muscles around your eyes relax.

Allow your inner ear to open and listen to the layers of sound around your body.

And even beyond those layers of sound,

Connect to a vast silence that lies behind everything.

Let your bottom jaw relax and sink back towards the earth.

Let your tongue just rest gently inside your bottom teeth.

Let any tension melt out of your throat and neck.

Again,

As if dripping off of your body,

Back towards the earth behind you,

Underneath you.

Notice where your shoulders rest on the earth and let them get heavy.

Feel the outside edges of your shoulders roll open.

Feel the backs of your arms where they contact the earth.

And let them sink into that connection.

Feel the backs of your hands making contact.

And allow all of those muscles to melt off the bones.

Feel where your low back and hips make contact with the earth.

And just allow everything to get heavy.

As if you were sinking in.

The earth enveloping your body.

Feel your buttocks make contact with the earth.

Allow them to be heavy,

To sink,

To melt.

Feel your calves where they contact the earth.

Allowing muscular tension to just drain off of your body.

And then feel the contact between the backs of your heels and the earth.

And let them sink in.

So your entire body gets heavy.

Relaxing into the earth.

Allowing her to wrap her motherly arms around you.

Allow yourself to be held.

To be supported.

So that you can fully and completely let go.

You can feel the surface of your skin soften as you melt into this contact.

This embrace.

You allow your entire back body to be heavy and sink in.

And at the same time,

Your breath fills your front body with light.

Expanding into the space around you.

Until you can no longer tell where your body ends and everything else begins.

You come into the experience of the connection of all things.

You come into the experience of oneness.
