MEDITATION FOR RESTORING BALANCE AND GROUNDING

In this meditation, I will guide you through a meditation practice used for grounding, releasing, and realigning or rebalancing yourself which is especially helpful in times of change or uncertainty, when you're most likely feeling some imbalance. I have created this as a follow-up to my talk on the same topic as a premium track on my Insight Timer dashboard. This meditation includes breath work, visualization, affirmations, and soothing music with binaural beats composed by Raphael Kempermann.

Transcript

Meditation for restoring a sense of balance and grounding.

Find a comfortable upright seated position that you'll be able to maintain for the next several minutes.

Have your feet planted flat on the ground.

Your hands can rest gently in your lap.

It may feel good to roll your shoulders up,

Back,

And down,

Letting them fall away from your ears.

Sit with your back tall but still relaxed,

Preferably with some kind of support behind you.

Close your eyes.

We will begin with three deep cleansing breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

So breathe in and breathe out with a sigh.

Again,

Breathe in deeply.

Exhale fully.

Once more,

Breathe in,

Breathe out.

Begin to shift your awareness away from the outside world around you to your inner world.

Relax your body.

Relax your mind.

Let go of anything that happened before this moment.

Let go of anything that will happen after this moment.

Just be here now as you breathe in and out.

Bring your awareness to the ground beneath you,

Supporting you.

Now imagine like roots of a tree,

That you have roots emerging from the bottom of your feet,

Which begin to reach down into the ground beneath you.

See and feel how the roots continue to extend downward further and further,

Connecting with the healing energy of the earth.

Now see,

Feel,

And sense.

Just imagine this healing energy in the form of a pure white light.

It's now running up through these roots all the way up to reach the bottom of your feet.

You can feel the warm,

Calm,

Relaxing energy of this light moving its way up through your feet now,

Into your ankle,

Slowly moving its way up through your calves and your shins,

Knees,

Thighs,

Into your pelvis and hips,

Continuing to move up into your belly.

Here,

Let's take a deep breath in,

Feeling your belly expand.

Then slowly breathe out through your mouth.

You'll see and feel this healing,

Warm energy as it continues to move up into your chest,

Your shoulders,

Your neck,

Down through your arms,

Hands,

To your fingertips.

Then all the way back up into your shoulders once more,

Through your neck,

Up into your jaw,

Your cheeks,

Eyes,

Forehead,

All the way up,

Reaching the crown of your head.

Take a deep breath in and let it out,

Feeling your whole body relax.

Just pause for a moment here to ask and intend to release any remaining tension or discomfort from your body now.

Breathe in,

And as you breathe out,

Feel yourself relaxing more and more,

Relaxing your body and your mind.

Now bring your attention to your heart space.

Breathe in,

And as you breathe out,

Focus on your heart light.

You may even see a ball of light in this area.

You might feel an energy beginning to build,

Vibrate,

Or swirl.

Just maintain a soft,

Gentle,

Loving awareness right here in this heart area.

Together,

We will set the intention to create and hold a safe space for releasing what no longer serves you,

Realigning your energies,

Grounding yourself with healing and loving energy,

And restoring a sense of balance and peace.

You may silently affirm the following with me.

I intend in this moment to become aware of any energies in the form of thoughts,

Feelings,

Or beliefs that no longer serve my highest good.

As thoughts or feelings arise,

Lovingly witness them without judgment.

Feel what you need to feel.

The less you resist,

The more you will allow these to be released.

You can reaffirm your intention as a mantra.

As often as you need to,

I intend in this moment to witness and release any energies that no longer serve my highest good.

Then release,

Release,

Release.

You can take a deep breath in,

And as you breathe out,

See,

Feel,

And imagine this energy moving out of your heart all the way down through your feet into the earth to be absorbed and transmuted on your behalf.

Allow yourself to sit in this safe,

Healing heart space,

Knowing and trusting that you are surrounded and grounded in love and support throughout this process.

There is nothing you have to do.

You've already set the intention.

Just allow the natural process to unfold organically for you.

Just breathe and relax and return as often as you need to the intention until I guide you out with the sound of my voice.

Keeping your eyes closed,

Take a deep breath in,

And as you breathe out,

Slowly bring your awareness back to your physical body.

Together,

We will close out our practice with the following affirmation.

No matter where I'm going,

No matter what I'm doing or who I'm talking to,

I ask and intend to feel loved,

Grounded,

Protected,

Supported,

And in alignment with my soul's purpose.

Take a final deep cleansing breath in through your nose and exhale fully out of your mouth.

Begin to bring your awareness back to your physical body,

Wiggling fingers and toes,

And as you're ready,

Gently blink your eyes open.

May you carry this loving energy with you in everything you do,

Say,

And experience for the rest of your day.
