With so much disorderly conduct going on in the world today,
How can we stay grounded?
What can we do to heal and find balance from within?
Today I want to talk about wholeness within and integrating mental health and spirituality for a holistic approach to wellness.
I find that this is so important to understand about integration.
How everything that impacts us assimilates and accumulates within our body,
Our minds,
And affects our spirit and the way that moves.
And if our spirit isn't moving,
We become stagnant.
We don't know what direction to turn in.
We don't feel inspired.
And really,
We don't even feel empowered.
And so we might become listless and start just reacting to life instead of embodying it.
We might become numb,
Anxious,
Depressed.
And there is a way out.
And believe it or not,
The way out is actually the way in.
To be able to free your spirit,
To direct the life that you are meant to live.
See,
Having meaning and purpose in our lives helps us to cultivate a soulful kind of resilience.
So this isn't just,
You know,
Kind of battling all of those external energies and confusions and doubts.
This is about finding that meaning and the purpose for why we're here.
That's what drives us.
That's what motivates us and sustains us.
And when we're not tending to those needs,
Which are the needs of the soul,
Then we can end up feeling exhausted,
Numb,
And resentful.
And then that ends up creating mental and cognitive blocks where we start spinning in our minds and don't know which way to turn or we actually end up in a fog.
And fog is an acronym for fear,
Obligation,
And guilt,
Making things seem really obscure.
And the cognitive blocks in that we don't know what the solution is.
How do we find peace and calmness and groundedness again?
And so this,
Of course,
Leads to depression,
Anxiety,
And feeling fragmented.
But spirituality provides us with a sense of purpose and gives us meaning to why we are here.
So a couple of spiritual practices,
For example,
Is meditation and mindfulness.
This helps us to calm the mind,
Reduce stress,
And reduce anxiety and depression as well.
Depression is really about resistance,
Resisting life.
And when we can accept that we do actually have some control over the way that we experience life and the way we interact with the world,
The relationship we have with ourselves and those around us,
Become a priority to tend to.
And our soul needs that community,
That interconnectedness,
And certainly the deep connection to help us feel safe and secure.
I've actually developed a method to cope with circumstances that threaten our mental and emotional stability.
And I'm going to share that with you.
See,
COPE also is an acronym.
And it's very useful for remembering this practice to be able to cope.
And the C is for conscious connection.
The O,
Recognizing that it's only temporary.
P,
Pondering the possibilities.
So we're choosing possibilities over the problems.
And it expands our mind and opens it up to solutions that might come in.
And E is energy management.
This is so important because there's so much that's trying to grab our energy.
Or where we have energy leaks,
You know,
Where we start giving away our power or giving away to external demands and circumstances.
And so this is a very useful practice to create conscious connection with yourself,
With your higher self,
Your higher power,
Recognizing that it is only temporary.
So moving into the concept of impermanence,
Right,
That things are always changing,
Always evolving.
And quite often,
Even when it doesn't seem like it,
For the better.
And pondering the possibilities,
Like I mentioned earlier,
Really opens us to expanding our mind and being open to the solutions and ways forward.
Managing our energy can be done through chakra activation and cleansing.
It could be done for going through an energy treatment like Reiki or integrated energy therapy,
Therapeutic touch,
Or there's a whole host of other benefits that come from energy practices.
And there's so many to choose from that you can go out and look for the ones that resonate with you.
Maybe you're even certified in one of these modalities.
You can practice that on yourself.
Again,
You can build community by practicing with each other and having a helpful and helpful energy exchange.
Even being in nature is a wonderful energy exchange,
Restoring that sense of life and vitality.
So what we're also recognizing more and more is the need for community,
To coming together in unity and supporting one another.
This really does sustain our well-being and is paramount,
As it provides a sense of belonging and offers a deep connection and feelings of safety and security that we all long for.
So today,
If you can,
Definitely make an effort to create some space in your day so that you do have time to connect with your heart,
With what feeds your soul,
What nourishes you in your spirit,
And be able to move your body,
Your mind into a way that is life supportive for you.
And if you can do that in community,
Even better.
So make some time today to practice some soulful resilience,
To practice some mindfulness,
To calm your mind,
And maybe even to meditate so that you can hear the wisdom of your higher self,
Your soul,
Or your guides.
And even when you're sitting on the toilet,
Right?
You have a minute,
At least there.
You can put your hands on your heart and just feel into your heart beating,
Into your life force,
And close your eyes and just be internal for a moment with the door shut.
Yeah,
Find the time today to do that.
