Welcome to this new day.
Thank you for taking a pause here with me before jumping into work or whatever is up next.
Taking some time to catch your breath and begin this day with intention.
A little something for yourself.
Leaving behind whatever you were doing a moment ago.
Give yourself a moment to arrive.
And as you settle in,
Wherever you are,
Sitting down,
Standing up,
Maybe you're walking to the train.
I invite you to take a few conscious breaths.
Noticing the air as it passes through your nostrils and makes its way into your body.
And see if you can track where your breath is headed.
Do you feel it in your chest or down into your belly?
And if you're not sure,
You can put one hand on your stomach and see if you can sense where it's going.
Watching your breath as it moves in and out.
And maybe you notice that you feel a little bit differently than you did when we first got started.
That simply taking a few mindful conscious breaths has already made a difference.
So many mornings we wake up and jump right into our day in the busyness of everything that comes our way.
Taking a moment to slow down and intentionally start your day can make a big difference in how you show up.
So take a moment here and ask yourself,
How do I want to show up today?
Is there anything from yesterday I'd like to do differently today?
Is there an intention you'd like to set for today?
It could be a state of being like,
I want to be more kind,
I want to be patient,
I want to be resourceful,
I want to speak up for myself.
Or it could be a specific action.
I'd like to reach out to someone I've been meaning to check in on.
Or I want to get out for a walk today at midday.
And once you have your intention,
Say it quietly to yourself a few times.
And when you feel like that's nice and baked in,
Bring some movement back into your body,
Wiggling your fingers and toes and coming back into this present moment.
Acknowledge that you've given yourself a gift,
A gift of some time,
Some time to think consciously about who you want to be today.
And as you're doing that,
You're going to be able to take a moment to think about who you want to be today.
It's also a gift for others when we take care of ourselves first.
So thank you for sitting with me,
And I hope you have an amazing day ahead.
I wish you well.
