Thank you for joining me today.

This is Jennifer.

And today we're going to run through a meditation that guides you through the powerful practice of somatic memory recall.

And I'm gonna guide you to remember into a joyful memory,

Focusing on the physical sensations associated with that moment.

This practice not only brightens your current mood,

But also trains your mind,

Your brain,

To more easily tap into feelings of happiness throughout your day.

Perfect for anyone looking to cultivate more positivity in their daily life.

As we get started,

I invite you to close your eyes as you settle in.

Relax your face,

Your jaw.

And noticing your posture,

Let your shoulders drop.

Letting your attention follow down your arms,

Allowing your arms to feel heavy too.

And noticing your hands,

Resting gently in your lap or on your knees,

Wherever they might be.

And we're going to reconnect with our breath by taking a few gentle,

Slow breaths in and out.

Noticing your breath as you inhale and exhale.

At your own pace,

In and out.

Perhaps feeling the air as it passes through your nose.

And see if you can imagine your breath soothing and softening your heart space as it makes its way to a softening belly.

If it helps,

You can place one hand on your stomach and one over your heart,

And see if you can feel where the breath is most noticeable.

You feeling it in your chest?

You feeling it in your belly?

Just settle here.

You feeling it in your heart?

Having your hand on your heart can also help with connecting to happy memories.

So I invite you to take a moment and remember a time in your recent memory when you were really happy,

A moment of pure joy.

It could be something small like watching the light change on the trees at the end of the day,

Or something big like a milestone celebration.

Hopefully,

The inquiry and thought alone brought a smile to your face.

Transport yourself back to that place and time.

Maybe you're already there.

Can you see it?

Do you remember what you were wearing?

Was there anyone else with you?

Listening for the voices or music or the sound of insects?

Are there shades of color?

Anything that might bring that time and place right back into your senses.

Really let yourself marinate in this memory.

And as you do,

Notice what you're feeling in your body.

And where do you have a feeling in your body?

Does it have a temperature or a color?

Does it have movement?

Maybe it's showing up in more than one place.

Rest in that feeling of joy,

Contentment,

Happiness,

And watch where it goes.

And if your mind wanders,

That's okay.

That's what our minds do.

Bring yourself back with a gentle return to noticing your breath and allow yourself to come back into this joyful memory.

Maybe you can make the memory even bigger.

Expand it.

Expand the time around the edges of that memory.

Imagine if you could bottle that feeling up and when you need a whiff,

You could just uncork it and infuse a bit of joy into whatever you're about to do.

Well,

You can.

You just did.

The joy you reconnected with in your body can act as an anchor in the days ahead.

With just a few moments of intentional stillness,

You can reconnect with those places you can reconnect with those places where your body lit up and rest in the expansive space of joy.

And maybe think of this practice like a joyful multivitamin.

You take one daily.

Remind yourself what it feels like to feel good,

Like giving yourself a little mini vacation.

And with your joyful memory all bottled up,

Take a mindful breath in and when you're ready,

Begin to bring some movement back into your body.

Maybe take a stretch.

Roll your neck.

And bring a smile to your face as you slowly open your eyes and carry some of this joy with you into this present moment and beyond.
