In this short guided meditation,
I'd like to give you an experience of releasing some of the unpleasant feelings,
Shame,
Guilt,
Regret,
Disappointment,
That come when challenges arise in our lives,
So that you too can rise up from the ashes and define yourself as that greatest version of you.
So when you're ready,
Go ahead and find yourself a comfortable position,
Either sitting up or lying down,
And begin to allow those eyes to drift closed,
Saddling in now to this moment.
Feeling your body,
Your arms,
Your legs,
Relaxing.
I want you to imagine a beautiful light from the top of your head,
Drifting down to your knees,
Cleansing,
Releasing,
Letting any negativity,
Anything that no longer serves you,
Flow out and away with each wave of comfort that washes over you,
Again from the top of your head,
All the way down to your toes,
And then that gentle feeling continues to flow as you settle in now,
Letting all your muscles let go,
Growing heavier and more comfortable,
And heavier and more and more comfortable with each gentle breath.
And you find yourself standing at the bottom of a mountain,
Beautiful and majestic,
And you begin up the mountain,
Step by step by step.
With each step,
You can see more of the beauty,
The majesty up ahead,
And at the summit of this mountain,
You know,
When you get there,
You'll find the you you've always wanted to be.
But you notice as you're walking,
As you're climbing,
Each step begins to feel heavier and heavier and heavier,
And you pull your bag,
Your sack down from your shoulders.
When you open it up,
You notice that it's full of stones,
Heavy,
Dense rock,
Each one emotion,
The feeling that you've put on yourself.
Some of them are guilt,
Others shame,
Some regret,
Some disappointment,
Frustration.
That big one there is the feeling of not being good enough.
And those little ones there,
Those are all the times you've procrastinated,
Each one just a little stone,
But they add up,
Don't they?
And as you look at all these stones in the bag,
You can decide right now for yourself that you don't need them anymore,
That no matter what happened in the past,
It doesn't help now to carry these stones around with you.
You can do your best and learn from your mistakes much easier without the guilt,
The shame,
Or the regret that only weigh you down.
And so,
When you're ready,
Begin to take those stones out of the bag,
One by one,
And place them on the ground.
You'll notice they seem much happier on the ground than they did being pulled around on your shoulders.
And each stone that falls with a thud,
You feel a sense of lightness,
A feeling of relief.
And even more than that,
You notice how much open possibility and creativity you've now freed up that you can use to find solutions,
To be better,
To do more of what you want to do.
So,
Taking the stones out one by one and dropping them to the ground with a thud.
Each time,
That sense of lightness,
That feeling of relief grows and grows until it's almost as if your feet barely touch the ground as you put that empty sack back on your shoulders and continue up the beautiful mountain.
And the moving your body feels good,
A sense of health and wellness,
A sense of pride and accomplishment as you step up and up.
And before you know it,
You reach the summit and as you look out over the horizon at the beautiful sunrise,
You notice that that sunrise,
That right there is the you you've been waiting for.
And it's been you all along.
And now you can allow yourself to be that you every day,
Knowing no mistake can ever take that away.
And bring that beautiful sunrise with you down the mountain and back into your body,
Back into your room.
And with a final deep breath,
You can open your eyes.
And before you get back to your day,
I invite you to take a few moments to appreciate you for taking the time to tune in to you.
