Thanks for being here for another in the series,
Bedtime Tales with June Bee.
Join me as we are out and do some errands while driving in the car and we're in the rain and all the things we will discover on our journey to sleep.
So let's get into your favourite sleeping position,
Making sure you are comfortable,
Close your eyes,
Relax your muscles and slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing,
Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing Breathe out,
Last time breathe in,
Breathe out,
Settle in now,
Relax and get comfortable.
Listen to the sound of my voice,
If your mind wanders,
It's ok,
Bring it back to the sound of my voice.
Let go of everything that has happened today and let's go on our journey together.
Now I live in the UK and to be honest,
It rains a lot.
I'm talking about a great deal of rain.
Sometimes it feels like it rains consistently for a few weeks at a time.
Now I know there may be gaps in the downpours,
It feels though like it is non-stop.
Rain,
Glorious rain.
I remember living in another country in the Caribbean for many years and whenever it rained,
Everything would stop.
I mean literally come to a halt.
People would just go home and either relax in front of the TV or go take a nap.
I found it such an unusual thing to do.
Well,
It is very different in the UK.
No matter the weather,
You have to get on with life and do all your regular things.
Oh how I love the sound of the rain.
I find it so soothing and comforting to hear it.
Not so much to be in it though.
One thing that I do enjoy is driving in the rain.
While running errands,
One of my modes of transportation is driving and when things have to get done,
Well,
Need I say more?
There is also such a comfortable feeling when the heater makes the car the perfect temperature for the driver head.
The whisper quiet and deep vibration of the engine as the car is gently ticking over.
The rain softly falling on the windscreen and that soothing sound of the windscreen wipers constantly swaying back and forth makes for a perfect combination of relaxation while getting on with these tasks that won't do themselves,
Right?
So there are people passing by in their various cars.
Everyone is going somewhere with loads of things to do,
I'm sure.
I like to take my time and get all my errands done.
While I stop at the traffic lights,
I glance over at someone in the car next to me and we exchange a smile before we move off again.
As the rain keeps falling,
It allows me to give thanks for having a car and being able to get about safely even though it is a very rainy day.
It has been a great experience today and I have finished all my errands now,
So it's time for me to head home and enjoy the rest of my day.
I'm not sure about you.
I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it,
So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.
