Hello beautiful souls,
This is June B and welcome to an amazing night's sleep.
Thanks for being here for another in the series of Bedtime Tales with June B.
Today we will do some washing up and then try to deal with a tap that won't stop dripping.
Let's begin.
Get into your favourite sleeping position.
Make sure you're comfortable.
Close your eyes.
Relax your muscles and slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing,
Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Last time breathe in.
Breathe out.
Settle in now,
Get comfortable and let go of everything that happened today and let's relax together.
Let yourself focus on my voice.
If your mind wanders,
It's okay.
Bring it back to the sound of my voice.
Keep your breathing slow and steady.
Let's go on our journey together.
Today we are going to do some washing up.
So let's get stuck in.
I am someone who doesn't like dirty dishes in the sink.
So whenever I get a chance,
I'm washing up.
I love to keep the kitchen clean and tidy.
Also it is such a joy to wake up and the kitchen is clean.
I love that feeling.
Everything ready to be used and a new day of amazing things I will cook in my kitchen.
It is the evening now and I'm feeling a little tired.
It really is time to clean up this kitchen and then settle down.
It has been a full day.
It's come to an end now.
Although my mind is still racing with all the things I have to do tomorrow.
And the next day and the next.
Lots of things I'm thinking about.
Things that haven't even happened yet.
And I'm finding it hard to get those thoughts out of my mind.
So standing here at this sink,
It's a nice feeling of the water running through my fingers.
The water is cool and nice.
Cleaning up the dishes can be very cathartic.
Once there are no pots of course.
I don't enjoy washing pots if I can help it.
I used to have a dishwasher and found it just as much work as washing the dishes.
The pre-rinsing,
The stacking,
The putting in the soap,
The setting the right wash and lastly the turning it on.
Again not to mention the unpacking and putting away.
Man I used to have to bribe my kids to unpack and pack the dishwasher.
What a chore it became.
So now I'm happy to not even have one.
Standing here at the sink is much more simple.
The sound of the running water is very soothing and the more I focus on it,
The more I forget about all those thoughts of tomorrow.
Using the washing up liquid,
Watching it foam up on the crockery and cutlery.
Then when fully lathered up,
Rinsing the dishes is satisfying and relaxing.
So as I turn off the tap and finish putting the dishes away,
I realise the tap is not quite turning off.
I had realised it for a few days now and need to get someone to look at it.
Okay so I've finished washing up now,
Here we go.
As tight as I can get it,
I'll turn off the tap.
As I go into the other room,
I settle into a chair and pick up a book I want to read a few chapters of before I snuggle up into bed.
From where I sit,
I can faintly hear the tap dripping.
Listen closely,
Can you hear it?
Soul clapping noise.
Another thing to put on the list of things to do tomorrow.
Okay let's make a note.
Get my cousin to get a new washer for the tap.
Check.
Let's take a minute.
I'm honing in and listening to it now.
The sound of the dripping tap.
It is really soothing to me.
I can visualize the tap and watch the small drop as it slowly makes its way down to the mouth of the tap and form the beautiful and unique water drop.
A shape that is so hard to replicate.
Can you see it now?
Then watching it get right to the tip of the tap and let go.
Hurdling down faster and faster.
Way way down until it hits the bottom of the sink and then right behind it comes another one.
A long line of drops all making their way to the tip of the tap forming that beautifully shaped drop.
Then hurdling down to the bottom of the sink to mix in with all the other drops before it.
This will happen over and over again until a washer is replaced which will hold all these drops back until the tap is opened and they all flood out together.
The final journey of the water drop.
How beautiful and what a relaxing sound to help you drift off to an amazing night's sleep.
I'm not sure about you but I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it.
So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.
Thanks for joining me tonight and as you slowly drift away have yourself a great night's sleep.
And looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series Bedtime Tales with June Bee.
Good night.
