Hello beautiful souls,
This is June Bee and welcome to a beautiful night's sleep.
Thanks for being here for another in the series,
Bedtime Tales with June Bee.
Join me as we hop in the car to get it cleaned up and all the things we will discover on our journey to sleep.
So let's get into your favourite sleeping position,
Making sure you are comfortable,
Close your eyes,
Relax your muscles and slowly imagine yourself melting into the bed.
Now let's go to your breathing,
Slowing down the heart rate and let's take some nourishing breaths together.

Welcome to the sound of my voice.
Let go of everything that has happened today,
And let's go on our journey together.
Today,
We are going to jump in the whip,
As my daughters call it,
And take it to a hand car wash for a long overdue clean up.
I love my car and enjoy driving all over the place,
Running errands,
Visiting people,
Seeing clients,
And so on.
Because I live in the car,
I always find it necessary to keep the inside clean,
More than the outside,
To be honest.
Yes,
It is nice to keep the outside clean,
Although I baffle at the people I see on Sunday mornings,
Wiping off their cars with chamois cloths and polishing them to near mirror-like perfection.
I myself love to have that clean car smell,
And I ban anyone,
I mean anyone,
Who even thinks about eating in my car,
Because I spend a lot of time there.
Honestly,
There is nothing worse than a piece of decomposing food caught under a seat by someone who doesn't understand the sanctity of a person's pride and joy.
How ridiculous,
Right?
So hand washing your car is super easy,
Even for someone like me who doesn't enjoy washing cars,
And can be done in these simple steps.
First,
Use a bucket of warm,
Soapy water to gently ease the dirt from your car,
Using a soft towel or mitt,
Rinsing occasionally with a separate rinse bucket.
As a note,
Always wash your car from top to bottom,
Since the soapy water will drip down as you go.
Do wash the tyres last with the dirtiest soapy water.
Rinse everything with clean water afterwards,
And sometimes using a hose may come in handy.
Then you can use a leather chamois cloth to wipe away and take off the excess water.
When the car is dry,
Then you can use polish to buff it up to a nice shine.
And also,
Polishing protects the paintwork.
And voila!
You're done!
As I said,
I am not a fan of washing the car myself,
And I don't have a vacuum that can get all the little bits out from under the seat.
So I regularly go to my local hand car wash and let the experts do the job.
And man,
What a great job they do!
As I drive up to my favourite hand car wash establishment,
I see one of my regular people who takes care of my car with such expertise and has the hugest smile you have ever seen.
The kind of smile that lights up any room.
And every time he sees me,
He gives me that million dollar smile.
It is always great to see him,
And as he directs me into the perfect spot,
Like a groundsman ushering a Boeing 747 airplane into its position,
I get into the best possible spot and they start with the soft rags and soapy water.
For this part of the hand car wash,
I sit inside and I am hypnotised by the soap running down the outside of the windscreen.
I have always wanted to turn on the windscreen wipers when they do that.
A fun and naughty thing,
I know.
And each time I am so tempted to turn the wipers on and let it rip,
Allowing the soap suds to fly all over the place,
Like a foam party.
As I giggle at that thought,
I watch as the experts carefully and lovingly clean my car,
Then rinse it off and direct me to the next section.
The inside cleaning section using this huge vacuum cleaner that has a very skinny nozzle to get right into those places that you can never reach when a coin or your keys fall down at the side of the seat.
I'm sure you know that feeling,
Right?
Oh man,
It is a chore to get things out of that skinny space and sometimes the vacuum takes some of those things up and get those interesting items back,
If I'm lucky.
I remember one of my rings falling off my finger and sliding down between the gearstick and the seat.
No matter how hard I tried and no matter what I used to pry it loose,
I could not get it out.
Eventually I had to go to my mechanic and he had to remove the seat to get it out.
Oh,
What a palaver,
Right?
Anyway,
As they finish the cleaning of my car and give me the hanging air freshener that comes with the wash,
I pay them,
Jump in my car and off I go to run more errands.
Knowing that my car is now clean in and out and thankful that I have this whip to get all my many things done.
Phew,
What a day and it has only just begun.
I'm not sure about you.
I'm getting sleepy even thinking about it,
So I'm ready to let go fully and surrender to sleep.
Thanks for joining me tonight.
And as you slowly drift away,
Have yourself a great night's sleep.
And looking forward to seeing you again for another in the series of Bedtime Tales with June B.
Good night.
