Hello beautiful souls, This is JB and welcome to a beautiful night's sleep. Thanks for being here for another in the series Sleep Stories with June B. Join me as I'm going to take a trip on a lake in a little boat to see how beautiful and tranquil it is. So let's get into your favourite sleeping position, Make sure you're comfortable, Close your eyes and slowly imagine yourself just melting into the bed. Last time breathe in, Breathe out. Today I'm on a trip to the lake. I'm going to rent a little boat and just row out there and see what I see. So join me, Let's go together. I'm here renting the boat for a few hours. I'm really not sure how well I can row. It's been a while, A few years now, But I have been drawn to take this trip for a while and I'm told there is a beautiful and tranquil spot right in the middle of this pretty and scenic lake. So let's go. Wow, This rowing is something that you need to practice. It does take a bit out of you, But I'm getting the hang of it already. What a beautiful day. I've gotten into a rhythm with my rowing and I'm slowly making my way to the middle of this lake. It's bright out today, Actually really, Really beautiful. Not the cloud in the sky. I can see for miles ahead and the day is just so lovely. I can see a small boat in the distance with a little engine. Looks like he will be passing me sometime soon. Oh, There he goes. Hey, Have a good day. That little boat is filled with people. Looks like they might be doing a bit of fishing. I wonder what fish you can catch in this lake. Maybe I'll ask the boat owner when I get back to the jetty, Because my brother likes to fish. He'll probably even come back with his mates and try his luck. So I just needed to spend the day by myself, Just me, Myself and I, To relax and enjoy my own company. I get days like that sometimes where I just need to have some me time to recharge my batteries. You know what I mean. And boy, It's such a great day for it because it's not very hot and there's such a nice breeze flowing across the water. I feel so lucky right now knowing I am able to take this time for myself. Just chilling with me, The boat and the lake. I don't even see any birds in the sky right now. Picture the scene. The lake is like glass. About three shades of blue. Deep blue in some parts and in others a little lighter. I can see a few fish swimming by the boat. They must be wondering what I'm really up to. I'm sure they're saying to themselves, Look at her just floating by us. I can smell that smell of fresh water. The smell filled my lungs with a slightly sweet taste that makes me a little thirsty. I shall take a break in a while and get a cool drink of water. So I'm breaking a little sweat now. That's nice. This rowing is really calming. More so because of the sound of the water. Just brushing by the boat and the oars cutting through the water like a hot knife in butter. It's amazing how this really gets you places and I know that people have been rowing boats for centuries. Rowing began as a means of transportation in ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. The first rowed vessels made their appearance more than 4, 000 years ago and as a faster method of transporting people and goods over short distances. Also in Venice the gondola, Which is what they call their boats, Has existed since the 11th century being first mentioned by name in 1094. It is estimated that there were eight to ten thousand gondolas during the 17th and 18th century but there are only around 400 in active service today with virtually all of them used for hire by tourists. The Trinrow boat has an easy motion through the water and most important glides between strokes. That's what I'm doing now, Gliding through the water. Okay, Time to take a break now.
